They haven't got far to travel l, it's direct without traffic and a hell of a lot quicker than getting there any other way

Our honeymoon was a cruise down the Nile.
I've never seen so many people being transported on boats before.
What is the cycle provision like at the WFCG?
Me and Mrs will be attending games using our E bikes in the coming season.
We need a safe place at the ground to store them.

The market isn't there because they already park up for free on Colwick industrial estate and walk for free and now you want to charge them for a ferry because it seems like a good idea in your head

When there's an additional 20k folk trying to get out you can bet your bottom dollar they'll pay. The same reason that people jump on a bus at Trent bridge into town when they could walk or is that in my head too? You can also bet that Colwick park will start charging too.

Where are you going to get the ferries to move 20 thousand people for 19 days a year in a timely manner? Or they going to be using Hovercrafts that can then be used as taxis to Newark in the week?

What are you talking about?

I'm fairly certain that considering EM's industry he has one or two contacts that would know about these things and be able to deliver something adequate.

As I have proposed numerous times before; giant catapults (nay, trebuchets) on the north bank of the Trent, are the answer to this conundrum.

But even with that, it wouldn't come at a cost that was even remotely viable - and that still applies if you can also use them for Notts and the Cricket.

Boats are really really expensive. The newest boat on the Thames commuter route (Orbit Clipper) launched about 6 months ago and has 150 capacity with a cost of £15 million. Yes, that'll be over specified vs what Forest would need but it does give an indication. Even if you can value engineer that down it'll still be well into the millions per boat.

Plus building piers at each end, hiring and training staff, etc, it adds up to eye watering sums.

No idea mate but I'm sure there will be subsidies, contributions and other benefits to it. For it to have already been floated (pun not intended) to the council and them respond positively indicates there could be something in it.

At 150 people per boat, how many boats are you going to need and just how long are people going to have to wait? It will be quicker to walk to the park and ride for most.

I feel people are overlooking that Nottingham is the city of caves. Get a subterranean network of tunnels connected-up, and with Nottingham's mining history we should be able to set-up a pulley cart system like in the Great Escape. Park-up all over city, and get pulled-off to the match without getting wet.

Additional, the caves will be perfect for cheese storage, once the cheese room opens in the new stand.
