The planning documents identify the opening times of the P and R's at Queens Drive and Racecourse as something that will need to be sorted, by which I assume they mean keep them open for longer, that's along with a host of other things (times of last trains, and to a lesser extent trams and buses too).
I really like the river ferry idea, however ... there will be odd times when it simply cannot run due to the flow of the Trent. For a few days every year the river is so high and so fast that not only is the underpass at Trent Bridge impassable, Queens Drive P and R is out of bounds as well.
There was once a ferry from The Hook to Colwick Park apparently. Some enterprising young soul with a boat could make a few bob there on match days (once the planning, safety and insurances have been taken into account)!
Regarding the old petrol station on the corner of Pavilion Rd and Radcliffe Rd, I believe that Forest have owned that site for a number of years. There was surveying activity of sorts on there last week as I walked past.
