Get yourself to Barnsley Freddie. It's reet good.
Take a whippet and flat cap to fit right in.
Make sure you've got a stoat in your NCB donkey jacket.

Just booked a weekend in Edinburgh for the Mrs 30th birthday.
With COVID everything is going to have to be a little regimented (which usually isn't my thing) but I suppose needs must. So far:
Friday - Travel up there, about 5 hours so have a bit of brekkie then set off. Check in for hopefully around 03:00pm. Going to a restaurant called Makars which has good reviews on tripadvisor.
Saturday - Booked in the the national museum for 10:00am, then on to Edinburgh Castle at 03:30pm. Then off to another restaurant called The Cellar Door in the evening.
Sunday - Edinburgh Zoo for 10:30am, nothing booked in the evening so far but I fancy visiting Mary Kings Close or Blair Street/South Bridge. Then off to a Greek restaurant again in the evening.
If anyone can recommend anything else I could try and squeeze in, I'm all ears.

Used to know a bloke that ran a travel agency bringing coach loads of people from Prague to Greece for holidays. Some of the ladies, ooooooooooooooooOff to Prague in September for a weekend.
Any recommendations? Apart from the beer, I've got that covered

Thanks.There’s lots to do.
There’s a bar where you get your drinks served to you via a train set. The food is decent in there too. The astronomical clock in the square is pretty cool.
There’s Charles Bridge and also the castle on the hill.
There’s a church which has bullet holes in the wall where folk were executed by the nazi’s.
There’s a museum of sex toys and there’s plenty of titty bars where allegedly you can get extras if you’re that way inclined.

We're staying in Old Town, so around a few decent looking bevvies. Think we fell on our feet with our hostel place. When night falls if you can only find filth bars and want normal bars cross the river
It's a cracking city, use public transport as its mint... if you suffer hangovers that keep you I bed stay off the ale as theres loads to see.Off to Prague in September for a weekend.

What….you mean you left her up there? That’s a bit rough?Wild to look back that it was 2 years ago me and the better half went to Edinburgh, ended up proposing at the top of Edinburgh castle! Hoping to go back again soon.

Yes, and Yes.Character building...
After seeing this thread I started to have a gander at short breaks. Lisbon is coming back as the cheapest, as anyone been and is it worth it?

Thank you Sir Peel. Definitely need to find that train delivery bar! Sounds great. We found a decent ‘Irish’ bar in a back street in the old town. Obviously not Irish but had an authentic feel to it with a good selection of beers.

Cheers Barry. Didn't realise it could be dodgy, we're not huge drinkers whilst away anyway. Thankfully we can all handle our bevvies or teetotal. It's a cracking city, use public transport as its mint... if you suffer hangovers that keep you I bed stay off the ale as theres loads to see.
Speaking of ale don't wander off or let anybody in your group wander off on your/their own when you've/they've had a drink.
I know of three people who have gone, done that and been mugged. One was whipped with a bike chain and it made a right mess of him.

I didn't say owt but a quick Google will tell you all the places not to go. I think it went rapidly downhill when everyone thought it was the place to go for stag and hen parties.Thank you Sir Peel. Definitely need to find that train delivery bar! Sounds great.
