HOW THE LEAGUES WORK
Description / rules + 'Scoring Teams' selection process for future seasons

Three Divisions each of 12 players = 22 games per 'season' per Division. We have 2 seasons within one actual football season... aren't we the lucky ones!

At the end of each LTLF League season there will be promotion / relegation of bottom 3 of Div 1, top 3 / bottom 3 of Div 2, top 3 of Div 3.

Basically, each person gets a 'Scoring Team' from out of leagues 1 & 2. Their goals scored are then dependant on what, each week, their 'Scoring Team' gets.

Our league's weekly fixture results will not reflect actual fixtures but the results will be decided by goals scored by all the 'Scoring Teams' being used.

Example:
userA is playing against userB.

userA has 'Scoring Team' Bradford, userB has 'Scoring Team' Newport.

In their actual games that weekend, Bradford score 1, Newport score 2.

This gives a LTLF forum league result of userA 1 userB 2.

Fixtures
See post #3 above for a full list of a seasons fixtures covering all 3 Divisions.

League Tables
Presented as any actual football league tables.
League positions dictated by (in this order of priority); Points total, Goal difference, Goals For, alphabetical.

'Rules'
All our 'Scoring Teams' scores will be taken from actual league games they play on a Fri/Sat or Tues/Wed when MAJORITY or all of our teams are playing at the same time.

If anyone's 'Scoring Team' doesn't play for whatever reason (not due to play / match called off), the user with that team will be awarded ONE GOAL. Where a game is abandoned any goals scored by a 'Scoring Team' will not count as they are NOT a final result - the player will be awarded ONE GOAL even if their team had scored 6 prior to it's game being abandoned.

BAD WEATHER; As found in the trial, mass cancellations due to bad weather can lead to a lot of 1-1's. Sorry, but can't avoid this if it happens. As we've got 44 games to get through (in 2 of our seasons) during an actual league 1 & 2 season of 46 games there isn't the time to cancel our fixtures. Plus, the cancelled games get scattered over many different days / weeks which is of no use to us. If God decides we should cop for a load of 1-1 draws then I'm afraid we're stuck with it!

Scoring Teams
We keep the same 'Scoring Team' for 2 LTLF League seasons (ie, 2018/19(a) & 2018/19(b), the duration of 1 actual football season. After that new 'Scoring teams' are assigned to each player depending on where they finished up (which Division + position) at the end of each '(b)' season.
See the table below for how this is done - please note it is entirely possible (but not too likely) that a player could end up with the same 'Scoring team' as they had before.

DIV 1
1st - 3rd or 4th League 1 )
2nd - 4th or 5th League 1 )
3rd - 5th or 6th League 1 ) require completion of Leagues 1 & 2 Play-off finals

LTLF CUP - LTLF CALAMITY SHIELD - LTLF EUROPEAN CUP
HOW THEY WORK...

The LTLF CUP

Each LTLF League season will have a LTLF CUP competition.

The Cup will begin at Game No.6 of the league season. Because we have a total of 36 players over the 3 Divisions the bottom FOUR PLAYERS of Div 3 after five league games have been played will miss out on being entered in the cup for that current season. SORRY! But can only have 32 teams in our first round.

The rounds will run in conjunction with the following League Game No's:-
ROUND 1: Game No.6
ROUND 2: Game No.9
QTR Finals: Game No.12
Semi-Finals: Game No.16
FINAL: Game No.20

Scores will be produced just as in the league. For example; your teams score for league game No. 6 will also be your score in Round 1 of the Cup.

There won't be any REPLAYS....
In the event of a SCORE DRAW the following stats will decide who 'won in extra time':-
The team that scored first, or if equal
The team that had most shots on target, or if equal
The team that had the highest % possession, or if equal
I'll flip a coin, heads home team, tails away team.

In the event of a GOALESS DRAW the following stats will decide who 'won in extra time':-
The team that had most shots on target, or if equal
The team that had the highest % possession, or if equal
I'll flip a coin, heads home team, tails away team.

In all above cases, the stats used will be as given on BBC's League 1 and League 2 web pages.

BAD WEATHER; If bad weather causes games around the country to be called off I reserve the right to cancel the Cup round and play it along with the very next LTLF League games. I would do this in the name of 'fair play' and the 'spirit of fun' in which this is all intended. This is because in the absence of fully played out games I can not resolve draws to the rules given above.

FIXTURES & RESULTS
Below are the 'pre-made' cup draw FIXTURES.
RESULTS will appear to the right hand side of the fixtures as they happen.

The 'draw' for Round 1 will be determined by everyone's current league position after five league games have been played.
(Again, sorry there's no room for current bottom 4 of DIV 3 but "you should have pulled yer fingers out in the first five league games.." lol)

The LTLF CALAMITY SHIELD

Each season will have a LTLF CALAMITY SHIELD.

This is played along with the FIRST game of every new season.

It is played between the previous seasons Div 1 Champions and winner of the LTLF Cup.
In the event that somebody has done the 'League and Cup Double' they will play against the Div 1 runner-up.

The LTLF EUROPEAN CUP

This is played ONCE A YEAR between Sept and Dec during every '(A) season' to coincide with the Champions League Group stages only.

All those who finish in the top 8 of Div 1 at the end of a '(B) season' will be entered in it.

They will be joined in 4x Groups of four teams (A,B,C & D) by 8x teams who are in the Champions League Group stage (1x team from each of it's 8 Groups).

I will select 4x ‘fancied’ teams and 4x ‘unfancied’ teams to join our 8 players in the LTLF European Cup. I will not select any English teams though.

Each of our 4 starting groups will then get 1x ‘fancied’ and 1x ‘unfancied’ European team placed in it.

The 4x teams in each of our starting groups will then play each other ONCE.

These fixtures will coincide with the dates of the Champions League group games (usually played on a Tues or Wed).

Results of our LTLF European Cup fixtures will be determined thus:
1. Whatever the used European teams score in their actual Champs League matches will be pitched against our teams most recent Division 1 league scores, either from the same day if our LTLF Leagues have a mid-week game OR taken from their most recent game.
2. Once out of our Group stages, winners of score draws or goalless draws will be settled by the same criteria as used in the LTLF Cup - except in the event of such criteria also being equal, our teams will then win over a European team by default.

Once the 3 games have been played in each Group, the top 2 teams progress into the knockout rounds with Group winners playing against another Group’s runner-up (see the LTLF European Cup template in post #4 above).

If two of our teams are tied in their Group on points, goal difference and ‘goals for’ then position will be decided alphabetically. If one of our teams is so tied with a European team, our team will take the higher position by default.

Our LTLF European Cup Final gets played on the date of the last Champions League group games. In this way we ensure that any European teams used that may get to the final are still playing.

It is entirely possible that the LTLF European Cup could be won by one of those ‘dirty European types’. Let’s hope not – it’s down to our LTLF League representatives to step up to the mark and PLAY THEM OFF THE PARK!
