Sad to see it end like this because he was a bright light who gave us some great moments before the injuries got to him, glad he was able to be part of the squad at Wembley and he made a big contribution to our playoff semi final win at Sheffield.

Good luck Joe, thank you for your efforts.

And always kudos for me for his comments when Hughton left.

No disrespect to joe, I love him lots, you’d have to be pissed off as a Blackpool fan getting him as a replacement for bowler?!

I really hope Joe can get himself sorted - he's a decent bloke, and on his day unstoppable. Hopefully a move can get him back on track.

Top player at one point but I ain't seen anything of him since he came back to say he can currently play at Championship level

A shame he chose Sydney, lol, I'd have gone along and watched him if it were Victory or City.

His cameos under Coops were better than hes played for a while, I just think he needed a goal or two to re-spark that confidence, he still had the work rate and tenacity, just look at the goal in the play offs where he hounded the CB into giving him the ball

Next time you hear someone say "why would player X join club Y when he won't start games there and is loved at Forest" then have a think about Lolley. Was close to joining Villa three years ago and since then has basically not played and finished his career by moving to Australia.

Football careers are short, and always at risk. You can go from best player in the team to surplus to requirements very quickly.

... and this is exactly why Spence had to go to spurs when they were interested.

Good luck to JL out in Oz. Don’t know much about the A league but I’m sure there’s worse places to earn a living.
No player put more effort in than he did and he’ll always be welcome here.

Don't blame him for going there. He's done everything there is to do in the Championship so there's no point putting his body through that (given his injury problems).

Won't be anywhere as demanding for him in Australia, he'll be one of the best players in that league and it'll be much better living over there than moving to Blackpool.

I hope he has a great time in Sydney and enjoys his football again, and enjoys the lifestyle there. He's earned it. All the best Joe, always welcome at the City Ground.

Lolley was been one of my favourite players of the last 5 years or so. And these are the reasons....

I have always had a thing for "inside forwards" particularly ones that could hit the ball like a howitzer (and my god Joe could). At times there were echos on Ian Woan (another player I loved) when he scampered across the pitch looking for opportunities to curl his foot around the ball.

I liked the fact he'd been to university and "hadn't made it". He just looked like someone you could have found yourself having a pint with at the college bar. And so I always felt it (perhaps) mattered a bit more to him. That he'd been given a second chance. And you knew that if he failed it wouldn't be because of lack of effort or guts, that he'd go down fighting damn hard because he'd been given a second bite at the cherry.

And finally he looked like a lad from a different era. His shit haircut and all that. I could imagine him with rolled down socks on a black and white film, perhaps even playing with someone like Cloughie.

I never knew him but I know he was one of the good guys and I'm glad we had him in our side. Cash and Lolley on the right, ripping sides a new one...

Good luck Joe, hope to see you back at the CG one day...

To be fair, a move to FC Chernobyl would be better than living in Blackpool.
