The Joe Lolley Retirement

It’s weird how I’ve seen so many people (on Twitter mainly 🤦🏼‍♂️) questioning Steve’s dealing of a number of players.

Yet one thing that he was massively good at, amongst other things, was building an amazing team spirit. Hard to imagine he could do that and treat so many people like shit. I met him a couple of times and I know people who met him also and he never gave off those vibes.

Do we think people are actively trying to make him look bad for some reason?

Bit annoying some of our fan base seem to want to put the blame at Steve's feet for the manner of which he was told.
Especially considering the attitudes and practices of some we have working behind the scenes at the club, I cannot envision Steve dropping Joe a text and telling him to go train with 15 year olds.

It sounds like something one of Marinakis's cronies would do if I'm honest. Basically, a 'f*** off, don't want you around so leave'.
When Steve left, we got the basic announcement. When Gary Brazil left, we didn't get any acknowledgement from the club to him.
We can live in a world were we adore Steve Cooper for what he did but can also accept that he was cutthroat when he thought players were disrupting the squad.

Personal speculation on the incident is that Coops did the deed, but it fits the MO of the club in general too, so who knows the circumstances surrounding it.

Again, we go back to the problems faced when managing bloated squads. Whoever is manager has to crack on and get shit done, regardless of any sentimentality; there's usually just so many players here to deal with he will barely have chance to hold meetings to spare people's feelings. The focus will be on the practical stuff like training, assessing and game prep.

Well, I'm surprised you don't know the circumstances surrounding it as you're so certain about the circumstances surrounding everything f***ing else

Like many other things in life we will probably never get to the truth of this matter , because even in this thread itself he has gone from being banished to the U23’s to being banished to the U15’s. And that is in the space of about 15 posts .
Worse for the lad, he’s been banished to Australia.

I thought the British stopped doing that about 200 years ago?

I thought it was the under 23s but how he described it on the aussie interview thing was that because a fair amount of the u23s were called to train with the first team (Due to low numbers) it mean that he was left with those not deemed old enough to train with the first team who some were 15 years old.
