As soon as he moves on from them to the next stepping stone, though, I will wish him well once again.
There are lots of Forest fans gloating thinking this is some kind of triumph over us. Well, not really, unless Glasner had been tapped up by Forest last year, otherwise we can assume Forest were not exactly top of his wish list.
Glasner’s obsession with winning did feel strangely refreshing. The way he wanted to win every game. No matter the competition or opposition was brilliant. Clearly played a part in helping the players believe and thus getting over the line in a final.
Forest are far larger compared to us.
Just look at there history.
They currently have a larger capacity ground and have had plans in place to go up to close to around 55 thousand within next 10 years. (its taken palace 10 years to replace a toilet seat)
Not been in Pem this spell as long as Palace but have finished higher numerous times.
May not be a fan of the owner but he is willing to spend money.

You really think Palace are a bigger club compared to Forest.
Forest has won top flight league multi times and European cup as well as all the domestic cups multi times (It doesn't matter if that was 10-20-30 years ago)
Palace has won an FA Cup yes that is an achievement rep for it was bigger back in days Forest won it and we won a Micky Mouse Europe competition they had won multi times what would be today Champions league.

Currently, right now, in this moment? Yes of course we are.
Ancient history doesn't matter one jot, it doesn't come into it when we are talking about the modern game, and players and managers in the here and now.
I listed seven clear black and white facts that show how Forest are a smaller club in this day and age.
Talking down the FA Cup and a European trophy as competitions for their merits is hilarious. To do that in order to big up a club who went trophyless over the same period is farcical.

Whether you like it or not Forest are a bigger club than Palace.
Based on your last 2 points we are bigger than Man Utd, and we are clearly not.
Having a passionate fanbase is irrelevant to a club's size. Selhurst has a 25k capacity, Forest is almost 31k, and sells out every game. Not only that with our limited hospitality our revenue on match days is limited. Forest's match day revenue will far exceed ours (just like new grounds such as Spurs and Arsenal get more matchday revenue than Man U despite having smaller capacities).
Despite the media and the BBC doing it's best to try and create some kind of rivalry between Palace and Forest, they're not our rivals. Sure their fans are annoying inbreds, but that's probably true of most clubs in the league and if they think they've got one over on us, then that proves the point. As for Wharton going there, can't see that happening and we'd want top money anyway, probably the same amount that they sold Anderson for.
Since Maranakis took over they've had eleven managers in 9 years and only Steve Cooper lasted more than a year.

It's hard to tell how he'll get on at Forest, as such a major factor will be his ability to work with a larger squad that lacks the closeness of ours, and a chairman who is so volatile. Personally, I think he may well fall out with players due to his unwillingness to rotate, but on the flipside, even with Anderson gone, they do have a strong squad. Plus, they don't have Europe to think about (unlike half of the PL!)

If Ollie prefers the scatter gun transfer policy and bullying approach of Mary Knickers to our leader Parish then good luck to him, he’s going to need it, though I expect treble the money was more attractive

I might be 'Way off beam' but I suspect many of our supporters are rankled and irked that he has joined Nottm Forest and hope that his tenure is unsuccessful.
I view Glasner as a manager who provided the club with unparalleled success, fulfilled his contract and was then free to negotiate with any club who were interested in his services.
Nottm Forest acted in their interests and had we been in their position it is feasible we would have gallivanted down that path.
UEFA demoted us for reasons that have been well documented and the decision was upheld by CAS.

It is 'Plain as a pikestaff' that supporters have varying criteria for determining whether one club is 'Bigger' than another.
I have concluded that Nottm Forest are historically a 'Bigger' club based on a number of factors, Trophies, History, Infrastructure, Financial power, fanbase etc etc.
We have had our recent successes but Nottm Forest have been back-to-back Champions in Europe, they have won the league and perhaps have a global reach greater than ours at this juncture.
They are a 'bigger' club than us.
We are currently a more successful club than they are however.
I'd suggest that's the conflation.
Glasner's trick is to go to club's where any success will be considered an overachievement and expecations are lower. He has that with Forest. With us he would have to sustain success which can only be achieved through winning the Europa League, far from guranteed.
Therefore we no longer fit his modus operandi and Forest do. I don't give a f**k about Forest nor Glasner's career now he has left. He had an amazing impact here but times move on, so I'm only worried about Palace now. Time to give the whole Forest thing a rest, I think the Marianakis period will not be a successful one for them and will end terribly. I'm not envious.

Forest are one of only 2 clubs in Nottingham. Since 1978, they have never had an average season attendance of over 30k until 2025. Their current capacity 30,445. The previous time they were in the Premier League in 1999, their average was 24,415.
Forest might have a few old trophies thanks mainly to Brian Clough, but even then they weren't a big club. What they did was similar to what Leicester did. They came from nowhere and then went back to nowhere again.

It's incredible to me how much personal animosity is directed at Marinakis by them. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he's ever uttered a word in public about them or the situation with the European places. I can see why they might have beef with the club for writing a letter to UEFA or whatever we're supposed have done. But no - it's mostly just Marinakis they hate. Then you've got the real saddos who rely on nonsense like "complying with FFP", "Commercial Revenue" or "Social Media followers" to try and win the argument. "I live in Cambodia and nobody has heard of your club here - they all know about us" etc.
Arguing about which club is bigger is tinpot behaviour anyway. Who gives a f***? Does anyone (who is not a bellend to begin with) choose their club based on how big they are? "Tinpot" for me isn't really about size of club.
Inflatable clappers are tinpot. Drums are tinpot. "Ultras" all wearing the same T-Shirts and spending the whole game facing the crowd is tinpot. Making up a fake rivalry because nobody cares is tinpot. Fans being silent all game is tinpot. People doing that "outside - I'll see you outside" gesture from a different stand is tinpot.....
