Interesting that the Championship is now the second most watched League in Europe. In front of even the Bundesliga, Serie A etc.
I was a big fan of his back in the day. And I liked him even more after reading he fell out of love for the game due to the flashy lifestyle the youngsters were leading, thus retiring. Surprised to see him back in any capacity.

The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) has released the fixtures lists for the 2024/25 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 seasons. The Bundesliga will kick off with the opening match between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen. Bundesliga 2 will start with Cologne against Hamburg.
Silly season starts already in Germany; today, Kicker reports that FC Bayern will sign defender Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart; the Japanese international, who can play as a left-sided central defender or at left back, is rumoured to command a fee of €23m, potentially rising to €28m if certain options are met.
Ito, who regular readers of this thread may recall I’ve praised before, represents a substantial profit for the VfB, who signed him - initially on loan, then permanently - for €600k from Jubilo Iwata of the Japanese second division.
(And of course, you know who discovered him, yes? Our old friend, Giorgios Syrianos).
