Cohen
Vaughan
Pinillos
Fryatt
Pereira
McCormack
Dumitru
Kasami
Tshibola
Mancienne
Texiera

Pinillos is the only played I'd definitely offer a new contract to. I'd keep Cohen if wages were reflective of the likelihood he gets crocked again.

Vaughan is almost 35, it's time to move on. Mancienne isn't a stand out defender at this level for the wages he's commanding, so - bye.

All loans: bye.

I dont think we are in a position to move away from Vaughan, He fits Warburtons style and with all the central midfielders leaving we only have Osborn/Cash left and Osborn is often used wide.

The squad needs about 50 changes and I wouldnt add Vaughan to the list making the upheaval even worse.

We need a central midfielder to take the first choice spot from him no doubt, but I think he could still be extremely valuable as a squad player. We should avoid looking to bring in 4 central midfielders when we could keep Vaughan/Cohen and look to bring in 2 starters.

It feels like making work for ourselves.

On paper he does, but Id like to think when Warburtons got us drilled, Vaughns deathly slow recycling of posession will be his undoing. Then consider he's one injury away from the scrapheap & we're better off shot.

With Josh Wright in the pipeline, McParlands already starting the midfield shakeup.

From that list of expired contracts, Id only keep Pinillos personally.

I understand your point, and in a better position I would agree with you, but the team needs too much work as is.

Cohen/Vaughan have shown that fitness aside they are good enough, if we can find players who can take the starting role from them so their fitness isnt an issue then I think we need to keep them.

We havent got enough depth at central Midfield as is, hence Kasami/Tshibola/Teixeira add to that Cohen/Vaughan/Grant leaving, how many do we need to bring in in summer? 4?

Thats just central midfield, what about Crock City in central defence? Or the Fact that our best goalkeeper has played a handful of games? Or that we havent got a striker or wideman who has nailed down the spot? This is alot of change to make and take the time to get right in one season.

We will end up with subpar signings as we rush them. Id be alot happier to see Vaughan and Cohen given reasonable short term extensions while we try and fix the numerous other issues within the squad.

Pinilios has had two ACLs so even he is under scrutiny. He is on a relatively low wage. If he sticks relatively low cost then yes.

The only ones I would consider would be Mancienne but with a reduced wage. If he can get better then he can go.
Cohen but more as a low cost playing contract with a view to moving him over to coaching.

We need to replace a 35 year old Vaughan with a 25 year old Vaughan. I would ship the 35 year old out but with a quality replacement who has the legs and fitness to play 50+ games a season.

The rest can go.

I suppose Warbo will make his decisions based on McParland's opinions, not mine, but in case he does ask, I'd tell him to get rid of the lot and get some fit players who are going to stay fit and players who really fight for the team. Those few new players plus those we have already here will take us to the promised land, mid-table Championship. From where we will launch an assault on the Premier League itself. We need Sherpas, not divas.

f*** the lot off , Cohen can be a coach

Re: The Contract Thread

I'd keep, without knowledge of who we're targeting;

Out of contract;
Cohen player/coach
Pinillos

Loan;
Hildeberto pereira if Benfica are amicable.

Honorable note to Manciene who'd stay if we didn't have so many run of the mill CB's. He's one of the better ones but if we can't get rid by selling the others.

Re: The Contract Thread

I'd only offer Pinilos and Mance new deals.

I'd want to meet Texiera just to find out what he looks like.
