But it wasn't them.

It was their managers agent who allegedly paid the players, possibly to avoid them getting a 3 point penalty for not paying the players.

The club didn't ask him to do it...

The manager meanwhile, was being paid by a betting company though wasn't he?, so he was OK.

That was the other way around.

Luton were paying fees to Agents for bogus services, which was thought to be kickbacks of some kind.

Obviously we'll have to wait to see how this comes out in the investigation... but surely he couldn't have paid them without it going through their payroll which is controlled by Q... so how does 1.6 millions suddenly appear in their bank account without questions being asked or without collusion from the administrators, it can't surely have been a personal loan... need some Notcher insight on this...
