The ‘I have something to say about Forest that doesn’t warrant its own thread’ Thread

Got to say, after all the club's build-up and PR about the Malmö game and how it'd be a celebration of the '79 folk, I was really disappointed that the Miracle Men walked out onto the pitch, stood around for a short while then walked off into the corporate corner.

There's 30,000 people who would have given you so much love and affection, and a whole raft of little kids who haven't seen you, could have had their parents tell them all about them....

...if only they'd walked round the pitch.

But they didn't.
I was wanting them to do a fully choreographed Dance number to 'Sunday Girl' by Blondie.
Missed opportunity.

It's probably as good in here as anywhere else -

We've already lost some of that squad, and there won't be too many more opportunities to get them all together, and I just think last night was a very disappointing opportunity missed for us all to acknowledge them in a spirit of celebration, rather than when one of them dies.

Also, Forest, for god's sake name some part of the ground after John Robertson before it's too late. 😥
Talk Sport said that the Malmo ex-players started to walk towards their fans but were stopped from doing so. :(

It was a one off occasion and the organisation team blew it.

I saw the confusion. Some of them wanted to walk all the way over, but the guys that stopped them were the other Malmo ex-players. Not sure why.

Much like the match, I think the Malmo fans were totally oblivious to what was going on anyway.

A sadly regular thing for Forest, they manage to cock up the most basic stuff every single time, and it is really, really, annoying.

On a different, and complerely irrelevant subject altogether, has anyone else noticed on the BBC Scores and Fixtures page that as has always been the case, the Forest men's team is rightly listed as "Nottingham Forest" regarding results and the PL table, whereas the ladies team is listed merely as "Forest" on the same results page and in the WSL2 table?

Littlewoods trophy is going up for auction, starting at £40k.

Forest are obviously inscribed on it twice.

I reckon we should be bidding for that.

December 6th the women are listed as Nott'm Forest in WSL2 fixtures. Perhaps they heard your plaintive cry?

At the Malmö game last night, I was sitting on the back row of one of the new sections of seats squeezed into the Lower Trent End - I was in the section next to Container Corner.

I wandered along the row to have a nose over the barrier between sections - the middle blocks now have ‘hospitality’ seats on the back four rows - more legroom, carpet, slightly padded seats, and at the front is a sign:

Remember the hoo-haa over the Leeds fan in the hospitality ‘suites’ at Container Corner giving it some when Leeds scored? Well, this looks to me like proof positive the commercial side of the club is all too happy to accept hospitality payments, whether you’re a Forest fan or supporting the opposition.

I don’t know why I might have thought otherwise. 😒

It must be posh - it's got carpet to spit on

I fear that some of them may have not survived walking that far

Was the decision to prevent the Malmo players crossing the pitch to their fans taken because the Malmo fans were acting like w**kers and fighting with stewards resulting in the OB having to get involved

Loved this, brilliant concept. They had to guess who the pro footballer was by watching them doing some drills.

Yep, same source, "BBC Sport - Football > Scores and Fixtures". Intriguing?
It's some kind of responsive design.

At full width the next round of WSL2 fixtures looks like this:

If I resize the window to make the browser width small, the same thing looks like this:

So presumably somewhere in the BBC code, they've got both a full name and a shortened name for some clubs.

Similar happens on the Premier League fixtures, except that we instead get shortened from Nottingham Forest to Nottm Forest:

Thanks for kindly explaining that to me and please excuse my ignorance. It all makes sense now.

Was watching the matchday pass for the Malmo game and when Milenkovic scores there was Corinthians flag being flown.

Yeah, this will be in the code behind the website.

I do also note something that is (perhaps?) a developer in-joke there - not abbreviating Bristol City, as we know the majority prefer large Bristol City's.
