Jesus it’s a long time since I’ve looked forward to 3pm on a Saturday as much…….

So looking forward to the life of the horned dandelion weed documentary on BBC Two,

Best 90 minutes of the weekend. 🤔😉.

Forest make the venerable Kicker once again, as the German Football Bible takes a look at the club‘s €170m summer transfer splurge:

Premier-League-Aufsteiger Nottingham Forest hat rund 170 Millionen Euro für 16 Neuzugänge ausgegeben haben. Was ist da los? https://www.kicker.de/913795/artikel/was-hinter-nottinghams-wahnwitziger-transferpolitik-steckt
Zis is vot vee vill do yaaa!! Unt Nottingham splurgeen ze fraankenpoundz da megabiggun. Vee kallun ze Merkel vor zee quikken interveenen. Das iz notton akkceptaball vor zee guddun ov ze futtballenkikken

A couple of random thoughts:

Listened to Colin Fray’s commentary yesterday - something I don’t usually do - whilst watching Jeff Stelling ( on mute - for other score updates ). When we scored Michael Dawson was talking about it a good 30 secs before I heard Colin celebrating. Didn’t realise there was such a delay on local radio.

My rugby team Worcester Warriors ( lived there for a few years, hence the affinity - I could never be labelled a pot chaser ) owe the HMRC £6m and are in danger of folding as a result. They received £14m in Covid monies from the government - in line apparently with other Premiership rugby teams. I’m not aware of similar assistance being given to football clubs?

Men's elite football did not get any Covid money from the government. The EPL created a £250m fund to help the EFL. The EFL also took a private sector loan out for additional support to the clubs.

Just watching Newcastle Vs Man City and defensively City are having just as many issues as we did. City are holding the ball up better than we did and creating chances, but are being soundly beating on the back foot.

When the best team in the league are all over the place at the back, it should give us further confidence in ourselves.

Was just thinking this. So far makes our opening day with little chance to gel together defeat look better.
Think this season’s going to be topsy turvey especially with the World Cup. Some unexpected results already; hopefully Forest 4, Spurs 1 will be another one soon.

Been on an all day session but:

Can we stop with all this victim mentality/ feeling sorry for ourselves bullshit. It's all over Twitter & creeping onto here. f*** predictions, pundits, MOTD, Gary Lineker, people writing us off etc. We're starting to sound like scousers.

Let's let our football do the talking and not blight our first season in the big time for 23 years by feeling victimised. We're better than that.

We've got the best fans in the country, the best young manager and a team who are ready to bloody some noses. Who gives a f*** how many words Gary Lineker uses to describe our contribution to a match.

So Newcastle scored three against Man City, we let in less :) (yes I know I am conveniently overlooking the fact they got a draw - I don't care, let me feel good!)

I don't mind us using any negative comments to fuel the fire but moaning about match of the day or whatever NOT talking about us is strange.

Anyone else feel a touch of nostalgia watching the European athletics championships from the Munich stadium - and harking back to that magic day in 1979?

Yes, those two goals were announced on Sky well before they were scored on Radio Nottingham.

On FM radio or streamed? And was Sky through actual Sky or streamed from NowTV?
Sky was on my tv and radio Nottingham was on my smart speaker. There was a good thirty seconds time difference.

That makes sense, FM radio is far faster than TV on every way as it's less data to send. Now internet streaming is usually 40+ seconds behind live TV and even farther behind FM radio.
