Thing is, I was thinking similar with Wood suggesting it might not be feasible for him to play a full season but then looked at his history
Last season he played 31 for us, meaning he only missed 7, and he had some time out injured and time where Taiwo and/or Origi might have played instead.
The season before 18 for Newcastle which is half a season then 7 after joining us even though he missed basically all the season after what, about March?
21/22 17 each for Burnley and Newcastle which totals 34 (from 38)
20/21 33
10/20 32
18/19 38
17/18 24 (plus 3 for Leeds)
16/17 44
15/16 36

So every full season since he joined Burnley he's played over 30 times in the PL except the season he moved to us.

Though I suppose Wood is now 32 so you'd perhaps expect some decline in fitness over the next few years so I'd agree we need to be looking at other options.

This is my thought, obviously we don’t have the details of said family matter. But this club have supported him through countless injuries and he needs to start repaying it. He’s missing the Spain training camp also, so when is he going to get match fit exactly?

Yeah I've always been a huge fan but its getting really frustrating now and he's going to end up with a reputation that could really affect his career.

Best wishes to Taiwo and his family.

We certainly need another striker, as Taiwo is undeniably injury prone. This is the single biggest factor determining how well we go this coming season. A sensible central assumption would be that he’ll be fully fit for 6-8 games next season. I feel for him, but the club needs cover.

Feel bad for Big T, I'm sure he's more frustrated than any fan that's he's not been able to play. Hopefully we do sign another striker to take the pressure off him.

Personally don't feel its been overly helpful for the club to distinguish that big T is not injured because it seems to have led to a load of speculation which in all likelihood 99% will be way off the mark. Just wish him well and hope that whatever is going on for him gets resolved in a way that he is OK.

In fairness, the club seem to be supporting his absence and as much as that says, it probably demonstrates that there are more important things in life and that family comes first.
