Summer 26 Transfer Window

This I like. I've seen him a few times for the Ireland Under 19s and Under 21s and he looks really good.
The caveat of course is that there's a huge gap between potential and achievement, but I think this fella is well worth a gamble.
Because of Brexit, Irish players are now much older coming to English clubs (have to be over 18) but that means that they're a lot more mature. he has that about him.
Even buying him and loaning him straight back to Hull would make a lot of sense.
We've also signed a young fella from Belfast called Mason Ayre, midfielder. Supposed to be a very decent prospect.

Yeah he on big wages if you read like papers like Strummer said, Unless he takes a big wage cut or we do a loan deal like Everton did with Grealish, Thiago Almada but he didnt get on but he would be a good choice as well

What I don’t get is how they end up on that. Are you telling me if city had said £200k take it or leave it he’d have walked away and gone back to Germany on £30k a week or whatever.
My local side were linked with a move for him after his successful loan spell in Stuttgart, and indeed were prepared to pay the fee needed but when Man Cheaty came in with their ridiculous wage offer, that went out the window as the VfB - fairly obviously - could not compete on wages.

You only have to look at the supposed Anderson wages, he went probably from 60-100k a week with us to 300k a week at City.

I get it is the norm now. But I just find it odd why so much. Look at Elliott, I know their agents push it and stuff but if I was negotiating and city said they are changing their wage structure and £200k is the max now, is Elliott gonna stick to his guns and risk going back to wages of £60k?

The marmoush one even more so as I think we were after him, it’s not like Real Madrid etc.. were snapping at his heels. I could even understand a hugely incentivised pay or one where it goes up in increments. I just find the whole thing odd.

I've never seen him play Johnny. What's your assessment of his strengths/weaknesses mate?
He's a big lad and will fill out naturally in the next few years. He seems quick and intelligent -- reads the game well and very calm in possession. So much so that he could well develop in a DCM instead of a CB.
From what I've seen his weakness may be that he seems very one-footed -- definitely a right-sided player.
He wouldn't be near ready for the PL yet but he looks like someone who could develop quickly if he gets a regular season on loan at Championship level.

Lovely stuff, cheers JC, appreciate that. Hopefully we are looking at him going straight out on loan then.

It will be heavily incentivised like every football contract, media will just pick the biggest number to report/guess like they are earning a fixed hourly rate.

If Marmoush is not playing & City aren't meeting their targets, he won't be earning close to what is reported.

They have so much headroom though through the stadium and commercial stuff as they bring in around 55m from events at their ground and their revenues are around 600m - they can spend 200-250m and not breach the new SCR rules with room to spare - they are in a great position to splash out to be honest
Sounds fair.

When's Beyonce playing in Hull?
