We still have a bit of flexibility about HG players - I think we will have 10 in our 25 man squad barring any surprises.
There is definitely an 'English tax' so that is probably part of it. Add in the fact that Hutchinson cost £20m last season, meant we were never going to get him for on the cheap. Dibling went for a similar amount so it seems like that is the 'market rate'.

Big Murillo vibes - only played 26 career league games. Will be interesting to follow his progress at Bournemouth. If we were seriously in for him I can't imagine he'd turn down the chance to learn from the great Milenko
of course we overpaid , Kia Joorabchian needs his cut after all. With Edu driving most of our transfers this season, it's never going to be cheap.

Now the dust has settled, overall I’d say that was a pretty good transfer window.
I felt we needed more attacking options and we’ve got them - lots of potential quality and different exciting options in there.
A high quality experienced central midfielder.
And a bit of cover at the back.
The only players we were linked with I’m a bit disappointed we didn’t manage to get were Akliouche and Fofana - but they were both probably just out of our range (for now!).
Hutchinson seems a bit pricey but we don’t know the details of the add ons. He’s definitely got future potential. A couple of injuries or poor form and he might find he’s in the starting line up.
If anything I think it’s in defence we might be slightly vulnerable if we get 2 or 3 injuries.
The main thing for me now is that it will take quite a bit of time and patience to allow the team to find an effective way of playing, especially in attack. Those players all need to build new connections and coaches need to figure out how to get the best out of them etc.
But it’s the premier league and patience is in short supply as we’ve seen since the West Ham game. For me it’ll take about 5-6 weeks before we can start judging these players properly.
As for the window, overall the club has done a great job of building for the future, adding value, whilst hopefully keeping us competitive.
