Summer 25 Transfer Window!!!

I’m welling up here, listening to how heroic the Newcastle reporter has been over this summer having to deal with the Isak transfer! Must deserve a knighthood or an OBE at least!

FFS 😂😂😂
that moron, needed some Cloughie wake up call
Like when he dragged the whole team down Cotgrave pit, to show them, that training in the rain isnt a hardship and to stop whining like a baby

Overall a good window. Definitely very scattergun and muddled by the end though, and I’m not sure we gain many brownie points with agents and players by pulling out of the LB deal so late and Jota being left in limbo.

Zinchenko is a great pick up, but signing two LBs seems madness unless we expect the Italian to be a CB primarily and we see one of Jair, Morato or Boly leave over the next few days.

Still baffled by the Hutchinson signing at that price. He’s 4th choice winger, 4th choice 10 and cost what we should be paying for a starter. Seems like he was a significant overpay.

I assume Taiwo leaves in the next few days to a club with an open window. If not, that leaves him rotting which isn’t good.

We have built some solid depth and some different playing styles to what we had. It’s been very chaotic again though and will take time to get bedded in, whether Nuno gets given that time I don’t know.

Not sure we have improved the starting XI as much as i would have expected for 200 plus million though.

Great window. Quality squad now, with one eye on the future. I'm assuming that we'll not see a window like this again, and it'll be more like a "one out, one in" in future.

BUT lets not forget that football has lost here. Players effectively downing tools to force moves. and clubs having no power to stop it. Liverpool, Brentford, Newcastle, Chelsea could have shown collective integrity and put a stop to it, but at the end of the day, money always wins. And it stinks.

We'll only be able to tell if it was a good window or not in a couple of years time. I think part of the thinking is about asset accumulation - because weve bought younger players, they don't need to be good straightaway. Good young fast wingers are going to go up in value relative to other players, I think, and we've stacked in a load of them.

I think that after today, that winger might be more of a priority than it previously was. The balls into the box were shocking.
I think Cuiabano and Victor happen.

Interestingly, we haven't actually made any use of the domestic loan market and only Luiz I think as an overseas loan, so we may see something to that effect before Monday's deadline for a striker or winger.

I think there is going to be a flurry of availability tomorrow, and I reckon we'll sign someone completely out of left field.

This window wasn't about improving the starting XI though, it was about depth across all competitions - the serious lack of it off the bench is the reason we blew Champions League, nobody to change a game. We only lost Elanga from the first team.

With every inch of me, I DETEST the way Kaveh Solhekol and Darmesh Sheth make it sound like they’re reporting front line developments from the trenches of the Western Front. It’s football, footballers and football transfers lads. Caaaaaalm the f**k down.
It's Kaveh's super slow delivery and over explaining everything that winds the fukcing bones out of me. Yes, you patronising cnut, I understand the concept of both £30 million and a striker.
Prick thinks he's some sort of genius for wearing matching socks.

These last few windows feel like the good karma coming back to us to make up for all those shambolic windows under Marthurs stewardship.

Is he though?

He looked brill at times for Ipswich. I agree we paid a lot, but I don't think he's automatically 4th choice. I expect to see a fair bit of him. especially as we have all the European games now.

Feels so good to know we can put squad players out in certain games and not see a mammoth drop off in quality. I mean, Abbots still in his teens and may develop into a top player in time, but how he was anywhere near the first team in an FA Cup Semi against Man City is crazy.

I'm more worried we're going to have EPL quality players not even making the bench.
Nuno's got a job on his hands.
He has, and I'd understand concerns about having to manage a larger squad.

But he can also negate those issues to some degree by getting us deep into all our Cup competitions, and thus ensuring most players get some game time somewhere.

It's up to him now.

Watching the wingers fight it out will hopefully be one of this season's most entertaining bits...

Given the nature of the position they should all get plenty of minutes and really push each other.

Funny that everyone seems to assume Hutchinson is the backup - I've even said he's one for later on - but it wouldn't surprise me to see him win the battle on one of the sides.

As it stands Callum, rightly, has the shirt down the left, but if the returns don't come - it's all up for grabs...

Nightmare for fullbacks on a booking too - get the fast tricky lads on.

Good times!

Yeah that's true - probably the best position in the whole 11 to rotate at will.
Probably the best to have 'super-subs' ready to come on as well. Fresh legs on the wings vs tiring full-backs can be a trump card in matches that we're not winning.

Her ball control is immaculate and her dribbling skills next level. I'm still not sure what her favourite position is though.
At her age. Probably in a flat back 4

I agree Alfster. Amazing how all the experts on here, KNOW he’s fourth choice and won’t get a game

Would you as a manager, rather have this problem, or the bench we had last season?

So the window is shut and it’s an international break. Anyone got any ideas what to do to pass the time now?!
Can we have a hot Aussie pics fest again?
