We're fishing in the same pool as about 8 other clubs. Anything above that is looking for an even higher calibre of player/price bracket. Not of all those teams will be looking to bring players in those positions and even then that's only a small amounts of players. That still leaves a fairly sizeable pool of potential players.

For that reason I'm still very confident we'll get the business done for some of our first choice targets and conclude the transfer window successfully.

Deals will always be harder and have more competition now because we are actually signing players that clubs want to keep.

Yeah ok, Proves what you know about Football, your obviously of the "he plays for Derby so he's shit" kind of folk, i have seen him and he's quality.
Yes, of course, you’re right.

I think I’ll just stick to Women's Beach Volleyball from now on.

Unpopular opinion klaxon: Phillips is shit, full stop.

When we played them at the CG he was absolutely dominated by the big old ginger bastard Ben Watson and never had a kick. I think he got sent off in the same game.

Interesting opinion. On what basis?.
I think he’s very solid in an in flashy way and put it this way if we had the 50M or so available for him he’d significantly improve our midfield

Not sure how Phillips improves that City side(?). Especially, a midfield that has Rodri as the pivot and Silva buzzing about the place.

Top two aside, he improves every other midfield in the division.

2 reasons Man City may want him, squad depth and increase home grown quota.

I know it makes a lot of sense for both parties but doubt Pep is trusting Phillips over Rodri in the big games. Unless he's looking at a different system with Halaand up top. Three at the back maybe(?)

Does Erling Haaland count as home grown too? He was born in Leeds.

I reckon it's more likely that Phillips would be used as a rotation player. Used against cannon fodder in the Champions League group stages, Cup games and lesser teams in the Premier League.

Phillips will be like Grealish he will play against the shite teams but not trusted in the big games.

In other words they will both be playing at the City Ground.

Man City’s second team could of picked up a few league medals in the past 5 years, their depth is a joke.

Luckily losing to them won’t effect us staying up or not.

In all honesty that's why managers of teams like this should not be considered for manger of the year awards. I reckon I could win the premier league with MC's squad.

Southgate is proof that you can't just drop 11 top players on a pitch and expect silver service football.

Guardiola and Kopp are geniuses. Yes they have huge advantages over other teams, but then so do Man U and Chelsea, and they're not at the races in comparison.

Yes Ray you are right and I am not disputing the quality of Klopp or Guardiola, I was being a bit tongue in cheek, although theres considerable difference in quality between MC's squad and MU and Chelsea IMO....

Philips is being bought not to improve the side but the squad which I’ve definitely does. Fernandinho is gone and Phillips is an great signing who is going to start 20 games max a season if city progress in all comps .
