Would Garner get a game now? Centre mid options are O'Brien, Yates, Mangala, Lingard, Frueler and possibly Auoar ???... Sorry about some suspect spelling.

Rotation, injuries, tactical changes…
He’d get more game time than he is at ManU

There are already similarities with Jimmy and Carrick in regards to their playing style and I can see his career being similar. Very underrated by many at what they do and their rise to the top being slower and later in their career.

I absolutely think we should bring Jimmy back. He gets it, he's bought into the cause, he's got quality, he works his arse off, he recycles possession and sets us going forward brilliantly, he'll still learn and progress and he loves it here.

Go get him Miltidis

I initially thought we going a bit overkill in some areas but then again, I totally underestimated the demands at this level. It's brutal and non stop.

The 5 sub rule has changed things too. Seeing lots of 3 subs changes at the same time. There will be a lot of rotation, especially if we get another cup run going.

Am I the only one that isn't bothered about signing Garner? Or Davis (I know he's gone to Watford) or MGW for that matter.
I was against Davis for the reported fee, but would take him at the right price. Imo we upgraded over him anyway, so was never that fussed, Garner was needed but now not so much and if we get Aouar then it's the same with MGW and I really wanted him at the begining.

Overall been a very good transfer window

Its funny, I think we all WANT Garner back but due to the loads of credit he has with us fans we are worried he doesn't deserve to only sit on the bench here! Its a shame we werent able to get him first, before all the others, thereby saving us a guilt trip!

It’s a weird one where I both want him, but do I want him at £17m more than Mangala, O’Brien or Freuler at their respective prices? Maybe is probably the answer, but now those deals are wrapped up I think it’s probably a resource waste.

I view him similarly to MGW if we get Aouar over the line (somehow, still feels crazy). Good and impactful player, but no obvious role in the squad. Almost unbalances it

Now we've been linked to Real Madrids right back im just reflecting on this thread.

Genuinely at the start of it I deep down hoped for Bowler, Bree, Lowe and Wallace as permanent signings and Garner back on loan, what is actually happening now is quite frankly absurd both in who we already have through the door and who we are being linked with!

Its mind blowing!

If he hadn't been here last season and there wasn't that emotional pull, we wouldn't be interested.

Seems like we are building two types of side, in high level terms. One that is direct and attacking, and one that is more comfortable with passing and ball control. Might be we use one home and one away, or mix and match against opponents.

Feels like the January Transfer Window thread may be quite boring the way we're going.
Seems like this will be the last blowout window

Spending to play catchup, and every window onwards will be 3 or 4. You hope, because that would have mean most signings would have done well!

As much as I'd love to see Garner back, I don't see it happening now. Think we'll sign MGW and a RWB then call it a day.

They won't backtrack they will find something else to moan at us about.
I’ve already seen people claim we must be breaking FFP rules.

We really must have one of the few owners in this league who isn’t going to take cash out of the club and instead spend it on the team etc.

Funny how we spent 5 years strictly obeying FFP rules, and now we are promoted - the thing we have always aimed for we are not going to bother anymore.

As I say, half the supporters are brainwashed into thinking they can't spend anything. The PL has some of the most soft FFP rules in the world.

Steve Chettle
I think the worry with FFP is more if we get relegated. If we stay up, we'll be fine. Everton have proven that you can basically do what the f*** you want as long as you stay in the Premier League.

We have 3 years to get back up for it to be an issue in the Champ.

What clubs are doing now is just keeping the squads they go down with and more often than not they walk the league. And with the age of the players we are bringing in we have a ready made team.

The mistakes the likes of Norwich, Fulham & Watford have made though are they keep the same squad again after they get back up.
