I love listening to him. Even the tone of his voice. He's so easy to listen to and says all the right things all the time.

Can see how players love playing for him.

Yeah he interviews brilliantly. I actually quoted Steve Cooper in a job interview about 6 months ago and got the job! "I'm very clear on my leadership style. I'm not one for criticising people, I prefer to foster a supportive environment, but that doesn't mean you can't be challenging or demanding of people - that makes for a high performance culture" ... Was looking the interview panel in the eye thinking you've got no f***ing idea that I'm quoting Steve Cooper!

I once quoted Stephen Potter in an interview, the chap who wrote humorous books on gamesmanship and oneupmanship. If you have two equal candidates and can't decide between them, just ask your secretary who she prefers.

The way he talks with confidence, always supporting the players while putting the message across and the results he's had in the champ - a few good results in the prem and the big boys will be knocking. His profile will go through the roof.

Hopefully with the ammunition he's been given by the owners, by the time somoene notices his ability we will be one of the big boys too, and he'll have no reason to go elsewhere

Yes, this is absolutely normal.

Newcastle 1-0 Forest

A tough opening game where the right team won…Newcastle may well upset a few of the big teams this season.

Forest never really got going and lacked the composure to counter the press. There’s nothing hugely surprising about that, given the vast gulf in class between the PL and the Championship, but hopefully this has gone some way toward clarifying the standards that will be required this season.

The lads will improve individually and collectively for the run-out and another week’s training.
