Or, indeed if he is, does that mean he has been sacked ?

Who can say anything about the reason behind this sudden drive to buy what is "on paper" a very decent team?

The protest threats over summer could have been the catalyst that got the club moving in the right direction.

On the other hand the club could have had it all planned and maximised there profits by signing the additional players after the renewal deadline.

I'd like to see the season ticket sale figures before and after the renewal deadline and in conjunction with the announcements of the new players.

Either way NFFC have done well out of it. They have shut the critics up by showing some ambition in teh players they bought and have maximised their profits through people paying marginal more for their full price season tickets.

How about a logical thought process, last year Forest failed when everyone thought they had promotion in the bag. They enjoyed a welcome income from the cup run that has obviously added some well needed coppers to the vault.

Doughty has backed everyone of his appointments to the hilt and for what ever reason players did or could not be attracted to the City Ground. January transfer window being a particular disappointment.

So with money in the war chest, finances behind the scenes stable, Forest have been able this summer to pursue CC's targets. Players released off the wage bill have freed up a little more income and other sides have had the chance to cash in on their assets. Why else would Yeovil and Orient act in the manner they did.

But we must always seem to have dark and mysterious deeds at Forest, so they allow these players to be prey to other clubs just to boost season ticket sales at a more expensive rate.....yeah ok................................... Protests over the summer proved the catalyst ;D ;D ;D,

In Africa an Elephant crossed a rickety bridge, just as he was about to set foot on the bridge a flea leapt in the elephants ear. The bridge swayed to and fro as they crossed, when they got to the other side the excited flea told the elephant.....Boy we sure made that bridge rock between us .

what is it about,if your a ture fan,you would pay for it,and you go and watch the red's.
if you moan about it,and you still pay for it,that just typical, because, you would just go to 1 game, then if we do not do well, you flog it.

Hmm...I being a translator for the MoD  should be able to convert this into an more readable format...I think it says:

What it is about, is that, if you are a true fan you would still pay for your season tickets, never mind how much they cost, but you will still moan about the price because thats what Forest fans do.......Its just typical that you would go o just the one game and if the team plays crap you will sell your ticket...

So in other words, none of the above makes any sense and isn't really directed at anybody....

That's right, so are you agreeing with me then? And you must be naive if you believe they didn't intended to announce the signings after the renewal date to maximise their profit margins. Every sodding club does it. It's called marketing. In fact I would happily pay more to my beloved NFFC. Apparently it makes me more of a Forest fan :nowink:. The concern has always been the lack of signings and ambition, hence the protest threats. NFFC have shown commitment this summer and have sold it in the best possible way. I for one promised myself not to renew if they didn't make that magic CC 5 signings. NFFC called my bluff and won. Good on them.

Quote from Vitalfootball:
Forest Chief Executive, Mark Arthur told the official site. 'We are delighted with the response from our supporters. Ticket sales were slow to start with but, following the signings we have made, there has been a significant rise.'

The new signings have had a positive effect and was something the club needed to do. The mood around the city in the aftermath of the Yeovil debacle did nothing to suggest that fans would renew. Infact many vowed not to, seeing that night as the last straw in terms of supporting the club. But the club have responded in the best way possible with astute signings and ambitious plans for the future. These moves by the club have had a positive effect and seem to have given a new found faith in all things Forest.

You see:
NFFC has a perfect summer and signs 5 new players in time for pre season friendlies. Love and peace to the world.

I see:
NFFC signs 5 new players as a results of low season ticket renewals and fan threats but was able to capitalise on a boost in new season ticket sales.

Is your glass half empty or half full? Either way, NFFC have catered for everyone this summer.

Do you really believe that without a few fans moaning on a website, nothing else would have happened this summer ?.

So the Chaiman is a man well versed in Capital ventures, no doubt brinkmanship and all the pressure that goes with multi-million pound deals, folds at the first mention of a few disgruntled fans setting up a web site to complain and moan about him.

Boy that was a huge flea that landed in that elephants ear.

I see a club who's finances were in so serious trouble that the very future of the club was threatened............Note Leeds Utd in administration. I see a man who has kept faith despite some very dark days. I see a football club now emerging from the dark pits of financial disaster, going forward.

What you see I wonder about, fine if you want to think conspiracy and then the club maximise profits, your little protest worked wonders,   I did not hesitate to renew, said I would do in the car on the way home from the Yeovil game. I think you were part of a very small minority, that has over estimated their influence. The signings have given you a chance to climb back onboard.
