Season Ticket Protest. ALL fans.

Kilburn Red

Viv Anderson
It has already been well publicised that hundreds if not thousands of forest fans will not be renewing their season tickets.

The reason for doing so is in direct protest to the total lack of  ambition and serious investment in the football club.

Nigel Doughty needs to be sent a loud and clear message from the fans that his limp running of the club is no longer acceptable.

Either "Put up" of Fu*k Off Nigel.

If the Mrs will not let you spend any more cash on your silly hobby then surely its time to test the water in terms of inviting addition investment or better still getting out of town totally.

For those forest fans who were undecided about whether to renew or not, I think todays Championship Play Off game should have helped you make your minds up.

Derby's fans protested a year ago and this was followed by a take over and Six million investment into the playing squad.

Come on forest fans stand up and be counted.

Could you perhaps take your protest a stage further?

In addition to not going, could you kindly not post on here either?

Will bring some welcome relief to those of us who actually want to see the team do well rather than just revel in defeats?

I agree with your AMBITION killy.

If there is no immediate improvement, I will join your pre and post game protest.

But, I do enjoy football. And would be watching Forest if we fell to Sunday league.

I think protests can work if they are done inside the ground much.

Not buying a ticket is one of many ways to get your point across.

You should consider producing a booklet or something to hand out at games, allowing the fans tomake up their own minds. You could also promote your website.

I think the fight you wish to wage needs to be taken on many levels. Media inclusion is paramount. You need to get on the news so that people take notice.

There could be wealthy Notts guy who gets to the odd match and doesn't know he could afford tobuy the club. If the protest in shown on the news it will reach everyone.

You will never stop everyone from going, so why not go the other way. Have half the crowd protesting, rather than having 15000 people inside and let the fall in attendance be blamed on other factors.

Derby did it and you've seen where they are now.

For every Derby there's a Leeds, money alone will achieve very little.

I watched the Derby game and luck played a massive part, something that Forest have not had for a while.

I reckon producing leaflets and handing them out at games would work quite well. You should mention the facts etc and maybe they'll realise?

What so you and your three mates can sit round patting each other on the backs telling your selves what very clever chaps you are!!   :D

Kilburn has more staying power than Nigel Doughty has ambition, so get used to it.

How many Clubs make a profit?

Leeds was just the most public disaster.

Pathetic, Doughty has dropped the prices, they in all fairness we're consistent prices last season and he has invested largely to the club. I am more than satisfied with Nigel's contribution to this club and am delighted that he remains here. Doughty is a good chairman and although we are far from the Premiership, the only better option for us is a russian billionaire, and that will not neccesarily be a good move.

Derby have done.

It is possible, but difficult to make a profit, granted.

Milan Mandaric said in 442 this month that the only way to become a millionaire though owning football clubs is to start out as a billionaire!

I think most clubs can turn a profit in the Premiership, especially now with the extra TV money and prize money. Not to mention the Parachute payments, which will make it VERY difficult for any team other than the three relegated teams  to get promotion

But they won't have, the man from the Co-op will be banging on the door tomorrow morning asking for his money back. Behind him will be the squad (not sure how many who played today are loans) asking for a pay rise as they're now in the Prem. A 3 year rise at that.

I don't think being in the Prem helps turn a profit, the increase in money is soaked up by players wages. I dread to think what the average wage is but £20K would be a good stab. The parachute payments help those Clubs who have to pay Prem wages for the two years after they leave, something that nearly killed our Club.

Average Premiership wage is £12,300 a week. It was puiblished last week.

OK, thanks I will stay if its all the same.

I like it here in the warm busom of fellow trees.

Many of the "Kilburn" threads are not started by me.

I can understand you are angry and frustrated but you need to channel it better.

You know I'm right but you dare not change your stance for fear of losing face.

Change your log-in and join the mass ranks.

It's closer to £13K (found this) and that's before any appearance and win bonuses.

Read through the article; it's heady stuff. :(

I've just realised. Kilburn's the anti-christ. Except that he looks like Baldric.

If werent top of the league after 10 gamers or so, then I will be making banners, leaflets and whatever else.

To all those fans who think Doughty has made a lot of investment into the club. Since the days of Platt just over 16 million has been spent on the playing squad with just over 20 million going out. Wake up people!

I think to get a true reflection you would have to take out the big 4 who find it perfectly acceptable to pay their subs 80-90 grand a week for doing nothing!

I know there is a big gulf between Chelsea to Liverpool, but I guarantee you that a low paid player at Liverpool is on more than most other players in the league

Where do these figures come from?

Not just yours but those quoted by pro-Doughty people as well, even the debt was never released as a set of results.

But using those figures (and those quoted in the press) we'd still need an input of of £16M plus interest payments to break even. :(
