That's how I see it too.

Bowler and Wallace will probably still be in the Championship next year, potentially both with us.

KLP won't be signing for us, even if we get promoted. He'll end up at Brentford, Villa or West Ham, and they will pay more than 3x for him what we would have paid to get both Bowler and Wallace.

Villa are probably a good bet for KLP, they seem to like investing in young players doing well in the Championship.

If we end up selling Johnson & replace with Bowler, Wallace & Twine I will not be disappointed one bit, even only two of those two be honest.

Should we not win the playoffs, I'd be more than happy with that. Twine is the big one for me though, I think he'll make a huge impact at this level.

Dare I say it? I am not arsed about Wallace to be honest.

If we lose Johnson but can bring in Davis to play upfront with Surridge and Twine playing the Zink role, that would be ideal. Get someone in the Matt Grime (Rothwell maybe?) to replace Garner and Richie will replace Spence. Maybe they look for a new LB/LWB but I think that would be a strong championship side.

Twine would cost a big fee and Wallace would demand huge wages. Doesn't make much sense financially to sign both of them really, so given the choice I'd prefer Twine. Better long term investment.

There's a great number of options out of contract if we don't want/fail at getting certain players.

Don't get Twine? Go for Wallace. Don't get Wallace? Go for Swift.

It's quite pleasing seeing Forest linked to what I think are a number of very, very solid Championship players on frees. Off the top of my head we've been linked with Wallace, Swift, Rothwell, Buchanan, Bree, Laurent, Bowler. Even just landing half of them will improve us a lot, both in starting eleven and in terms of wider squad depth.

I'm cautiously excited about summer window, even if we don't go up and even if we have to sell Johnson.

Twine and Bowler would be top of my list as his replacement. Wallace is quality no doubt, but would be a bonus for me.

As Maxi says - there is a lot of options for us to explore and I am sure there is plenty we don't know about.

At least we look like a team on the up again. Any of the players mentioned will be interested in speaking to us as a championship offering. Couldn't have said that 9 months ago.

Quite a few players turned us down last summer, some most likely due to us coming off the back of a poor season and Hughton still being in charge IMO.

We will certainly be a more attractive proposition for potential signings this time around.

If you don't want to play for Steve Cooper then you should be kicked out of football permanently.

But surely if we sign Wallace you can pretty much keep your username?

Signed for Burnley. Shame we didn't throw our hat into the ring IMO.

If we did we'd loan him straight out I suspect and despite appearances to the contrary finances are limited. He's 23 with one good league 1 season under his belt, we should and are looking for better.

I think he would have been a good squad player who could develop further given time, and would have been more affordable than most players we've been linked to this summer.

I think he'll do very well for Burnley next season.

I'd have been fully on board if we stayed in the championship, different game now.
