His hit rate must be 50% conversion which is vital in this league. Defence will be our key though, stop then scoring you get 1 point guaranteed.
Got me wondering so here are his attacking stats from last season with a few comparisons:

Surridge:

Solanke:

Mitrovic:

Strikers in the Premier League from the teams who were promoted the year before us:

Pukki:

Toney:

Dennis:

I know everyone is making plans with Awoniyi and Dennis being the two main choices upfront, but I would not write off Surridge just yet. His work rate, his natural instinct to help in defence, and his finishing may prove handy more than many people think.

In any case, if you feel he has a small role to play this season, we would gladly take him off your hands. He would smash our league.

Most natural goal scorer we have along with Dennis. We should really keep him. He’ll come in handy when we’re behind in games.

The headline on the piece about Boro wanting Surridge couldn't even get his first name right.
I don't think Sam should be sold.

Hope this doesn’t happen, young Sam has the right attitude I like the kid a lot

Letting Surridge go to bring in another striker would be a huge mistake, and the first sign of a dangerous temptation all promoted teams face: getting carried away by the need to bring in quality and forgetting that they have to allow some players to grow into Premier players.

Given how light we are upfront and how unlikely it is that we could bring in a decent striker at this stage, getting rid of Sammy would be a spectacularly shit decision. Can't see it myself.
