Ross Wilson - ex-Chief Football Officer

Sangare was a luxury. We had Yates, Mangala, Dominguez, Kouyate and Santos at time of purchase. We sold 8 goals leaving ourselves to rely on an injury prone 10 goal man. That's half of our total goals scored last season and it should be no surprise to anyone let alone highly paid specialists that we'd struggle with them out of the team!

Elanga has done well, but only on the wing, MGW is having a stinker and can't play on the wing, Awoniyi is injured as expected and CHO was injured as expected.

£30m should have gone on a striker to replace Brennan who spent the summer whoring himself out to a few London clubs.

Spot on,young man-not for the first time Forest are under the threat of relegation by not
addressing the striker problem.
Anyone remember the Edward Sheringham fiasco?

Was only a matter of time before we turned on Ross Wilson, despite none of us having the slightest idea what he does on a daily basis, what players he signed, recommended etc
That already happened on page 1

And it does make me laugh it was apparently Syrianos who saved our window yet the blame is back on Wilson's doorstep again. How about we just let it play out.

Just had a flashback of our apparent bid for Chalobah on deadline day. If true, it would mean we have minimum 25mil to play with, i hope its being redirected for the correct positions. (if true obviously)

Sheringham to Rosario
Collymore to Lee/Silenzi/an unfit Campbell
Earnshaw to Miller and Derbyshire
Etc.

It's like we enjoy punishing ourselves

I think we spent roughly half of that money on Omobamidele once we knew we weren't getting Chalobah, so we've maybe got £10-15m of that left.

It's purely a case of scapegoating to avoid any blame being placed on the manager. You'll notice that those blaming Wilson rarely say anything negative about Coops or question him. Many will have stated their undying love and adoration for him too.

He’s no Delroy Wilson, I’ll tell you that.

We'd maybe get a half decent loan with that sort of a budget to spend in January. Quality strikers don't move in January for anything other than silly amounts of money.

Well it shouldn't be too difficult to improve on what we've got. Someone that can move and jump would be a start. Wood must be the only person in the world whose forehead is lower when he jumps than when he stands still. He plays like his boots are made out of lead.

Even if a new striker can't finish if they could at least occupy the defenders a bit that would help.

We only need to concentrate on getting one player in, and that's a striker that puts a shift in and scores goals.

Loads to go out....Tavares, Montiel, Santos to be returned. McKenna back to Scotland. Loan move for Joe.

Lets get a squad that's compact and not bloated. Focused and ready.

Can't be that difficult to find a top quality striker on a limited budget. They'll be falling over themselves to come here won't they?
I hear Haarland is desperate to come to play for us.
He said playing at Man City was boring as it was just to easy.
“Forest has been a strikers graveyard over the years,” he said.
“I am keen to show how good I am by scoring loads of goals for Stevie Cooper”.
Forest Director of Football was not available for comment as he was receiving treatment having been bitten while looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I don't think he has much to do with recruitment, certainly not to the point where he's choosing targets or having any final say.

I do think it's poor though that as Chief Football Officer, he's yet to be interviewed or utter a word to anyone on the record in the 8 months he's been here. If people misinterpret his role then it's perhaps due to a lack of communication as to what his role actually is.

Seems he was involved in a row in the directors box on Friday night. Maybe like Dane he had a plan, and gets overruled.
Probably went for a piss and found there was no running water in the bogs?

Agree with your point completely but wasn't Lee here with us at the same time as Collymore? I seem to remember him being cover for while SC was injured. He played fo us in what was then Division 1.
Yes he was dude, but I put him down simply coz he had to step in and cover a huge role, which he did admirably, but also clearly wasn't ready for in the long run either.

He's chief football officer, but doesn't deal with the football? As he's in a football club whose sole purpose in life is to play football, seems odd to me.

What does he do all day? If it's admin, he's chief admin officer.

Seemingly not actively involved in recruitment, nor dealing with managerial changes, nor involved in the infrastructure changes at the ground.

Suggestion of better communication as to what he actually does wouldn't go amiss.

Picks up a monthly salary that would be beyond the reach of anyone on here?
