He scored again tonight and has started every game this season so far. It sounds like he's doing brilliantly for the Stags. 11 games, 3 goals. Not bad for a centre-back.
He's a good lad, not sure why anyone was expecting less.

We've always seemed to produce a load of good CBs. Walker obviously. Then Dawson, Worrall... Harbottle probably. Zach Abbott looks decent for a young kid.

Scored last night but badly at fault for both Hartlepool's goals. Good player, though who's still learning. That's what he's there for.

There's always mistakes in young players, and that's more exposed the deeper down the pitch you go as their mistakes tend to get punished.

Great loan for the lad, pleased he's getting such a lot of game time. There's an interview knocking around about he and swan with Nigel giving his thoughts on both that's worth a look - I'll see if I can find...

I wasn't expecting that. After a good season at Mansfied, I was assuming we'd get him out on loan to a League 1 side. Then again, he's turned 21 and there are some promising centre-halves coming through the academy.

Anyway, good luck Riley.

We probably didn't get mega money for him but if he hasn't got a chance of playing for us we may aswell take whatever cash is on offer

Would assume this deal is along the lines of a relatively token fee, with a fairly decent sell on.

I reckon his potential is to become a solid Championship level player, and that he's fairly likely to get there in a couple years time, so it'd be a case of playing the long game and in a year or two Hibs will be selling him on for 2-3 million.

He sounds like a good player and seems a nice lad, but I can’t help associating his name with a random character from an old George Formby film .

Good luck to him for the future.

Good luck, Riley!
I saw him a few times for the U21s, and thought he looked like a prospect.
He'll probably resurface as a £10m player like Amhedhodzic in the next couple of years!

I saw the academy tweet yesterday but notice that the club site doesn't have anything on their news page about it. They have posted similar stories on the club's site before so it seems a little disrespectful for them not to do it for Riley.

I hope it works out for him in Edinburgh.
