More time today would be great, hopefully we can get a good lead to enable that.

To be fair, he looked well out of place against West Brom, good potential but not at all gelled. Competitive minutes with the team needed.

But if we've learned anything its that players need the environment and time to get going. Look at Colback, Yates, Figs to name but a few. I too hope we are 3:0 up and he gets 30 minutes but I fear Coops plan is to integrate him in the summer, which is all well and good assuming there are no more injuries...

I seriously think this guy can do a job for us. Looks really capable coming forward. We may get to see him doing some defending at some point, if we're really patient !

Should have had a fantastic assist if Adebayo’s extendo legs hadn’t poked Brennans shot wide

Surprised to see him playing on the right with Spence switching to the other side. I thought LB was his position.

I think he played on the right for his previous club and that is his preferred position, but he plays on the left for the Canadian national side and can do a job there.

I was too but I think it was about bedding him in and acclimatising him with a position he's comfortable with first. Switching Spence who's at the top of his game would be less of a shock to the system all around. Another masterstroke from Cooper.

I also think it had a lot to do with Fulham's attacks coming mostly down their right/our left in the second half - and not wanting to throw the relatively untested at this level Laryea right into the firing line.

Yep, that was pretty much what I was getting at. Bed him in gently and build his confidence.

Big things coming. This kit will go down in folklore too.

Thought he looked a bit naive positionally, plenty of energy going forwards but think he's got a fair bit of settling in to do. In his defence i'm not sure how much experience he has as a wingback

As I mentionned when Forest bought him, he's got bags of pace, can play either flank (and let's face it---fullbacks, wingbacks and wingers are not dramatically different animals these days) but I've found his positioning to be a bit suspect in the past when he plays in a defensive role. If he can up that aspect I think he'd cut it in the Prem.

It's all about mid-table...

As long as he's norraz bad as that Left Back cum Centre Back (actually he want too bad there) we had a few year ago.

I've forgotten his name and justifiably so

He used to stand 10 yards away from the Right winger, allowing him to cross at will.

Strummer will know who I mean.

Having previously been unsure, this season has completely convinced me of the wingback role, if we are going to be signing quick, attacking FB's.
Its a very rare player indeed that offers the sort of pyrotechnic attacking prowess of someone like Spence with a proper consistent defensive skill set.

"Trent" AA who is held up as the blueprint of the modern FB/WB is a shocking defender IMO. If you had the quality to go toe to toe with Liverpool I would be looking to attack his space big time

You look at the run he made which Johnson was unlucky not to convert but for a good block, just slots in to the system perfectly and doing what Spence has done all season.

Looks another good recruit that will benefit us long term if we don't go up, we know he has had to bide his time but could be better that way as he knows the demands now.

Even the players that we sign that are not playing, you feel like there is a plan with them and they will have a part to play eventually instead of signing a player and knowing he will be sold in 6 months.

E.g. Laryea, Odeja, Panzo, Surridge up until this month

The building blocks for the next team are already there.

Although he only had a cameo appearance last night (Word Up!) he looked like he’d been in the side for ages.

This is a radical change for Forest, proactively thinking about players who can slot into the way the team is set up.

Great teams have great depth. And Forest will need that depth - whichever division they play in next season.
