Last season we were home first game and home last game, can't see that happening again. One things for certain, Brighton will be either played in Winter freezing cold or midweek and they'll be a few long distance away games played midweek, as is always the case

Of course the 1st Edition of the fixture list is a work of fiction.
With 9 Premier League teams in European competitions there will be far more fixtures tha are moved than are played on the date published in the first edition.

Starting & ending at home is really the only thing that makes much of a difference, if it even does.

Ideally avoiding newly promoted teams away in the first few weeks of the season would be a bonus, always feel like they are banana skins.

I always think this, let the initial buoyancy of promotion die down a little and let the reality of how much of a grind survival is going to be set in.

Coventry away first or second game would be a serious banana skin. Not sure the atmosphere at the other two would be the same.

Can I predict that the Fixture list will be released on the Friday and that by Monday 5 of our games will have been moved...

Why the **** don't they give the list confidentially to Sky a couple of days before and tell them "Sort out your telly fixture list up to Christmas"...and then on the Friday the fixtures can be released and NOTHING WILL CHANGE BEFORE CHRISTMAS so that plans can be made, travel booked etc.

Then by November, the shape of the table will be reasonably well defined, and Sky can be told "sort out your telly fixtures from Christmas to Easter"...

...and then come Easter when (and I appreciate that they will want to televise the likely important games) tell 'em "sort out your telly fixtures from Easter to end of season"

Is that such an unreasonable idea?

Nope. Boxing Day 2019 we won 2-0 away at Hull, with Grabban getting both goals.

The year before, we lost 2-1 in the FA Cup 4th round, with Bowen tearing us apart. Vellios got our goal.

It's the first time there'll be more than 3 teams with fewer seasons than us I think.

As nearly half of the teams are playing in Europe, a fair proportion of our games are going to be on Sundays again, aren’t they? Public transport to the WFCG on Sundays is pants.

I have ‘enjoyed’ a number of trips to Hull for ice hockey in years gone by… hope things have improved since then…
