It's been a slow week waiting for KO!
So....I decided to do a bit of analysis re goals scored by our current squad and predicted squad. I collated goals scored from the 21/22 season and factored in difficult of leagues into goals scored for the 22/23 season e.g. Championship goals divided by three in the EPL.
This doesn't take into account minutes / games played, as some players played the whole season, limited games last season or others e.g. Lingard, didn't play at all.
It also doesn't take into account goals that Colback intended, or time taken for the Cooper ethos to kick-in and players to gel.
* Players colours are based on existing players, newly signed players, potentials and unlikely potentials.
* Starred / underlined players are U21. Gives us a squad of 28 (4 U21 players) at end of the window, with Aguilera and Scarpa to come in January (30 with 5 U21 players).
Based on the 21/22 EPL season this would put us in 9th on goals scored. The last season Henderson had a full season in the EPL, Sheffield United finished 9th.
So based on this goals table, I am predicting a rather ambitious, but statistic based, ninth place.
Note* If we get relegated we at least get to score 127 goals in the 23/24 season!!!
Bizarrely the table only took about 30 minutes to do, the write-up whilst slightly drunk (it's 6pm here) took well over an hour!

Does that table factor in the fact those players were probably starting most games? I don't think the EPL will allow us to be starting ~20 players most games, if it doesn't then we may be struggling goals wise I guess.
EDIT: Just seen it doesn't factor in minutes played.

Can't honestly remember my original post, but I was so hazy and buzzing over the play off result and the sudden jump in our League position, that I think it's excusable. On that note, heard the excited exclamations on the radio this morning that the Premier League is starting today and suddenly realised it's coming true, we really are in it!!
Anyway, I think we will be bottom half, but avoid the drop; so it'll be anywhere above17. That will make me very happy. But each place above 17 will send me into paroxysms of joy.

Entirely possible.
EM is properly obsessed and in full Skysport Zombie mode since we got promotion.
He'll be a loose cannon with no patience if things start going wrong imo.
Let's hope we can get a decent amount of points on the board to dispel that.
