Really pleased for Matt Davies. Looks like he has cemented himself as the standout Forest podcast and if the club trust him, that feels massive for him. Great job-appreciate podcasts aren’t for everyone, but I find FF brilliant and it occupys my thoughts on runs, dog walks and the commutes to work. Thank you Matt if you’re reading this!

I agree

I have been critical of his production value in the past but you cannot question his content, he does a great job with such a wide variety of guests. I think it's only said production value that is stopping it being one of the highest regarded club podcasts in the country.

Think it's a smart move by the club to get the podcast onside.

Who knows whose ideas these are, but can't help think Pereira deserves a decent share of the credit for this. He's pushed the unity message hard since his appointment. And though you'd expect that from any incoming coach, it has been backed up by actions like the interview on the most influential fans' podcast and a training open day.

It was needed. The fanbase had become as fractious as it had been since the days of Hughton. I've no doubt Pereira genuinely loves a beer, but I think the "first the points, then the pints" and the drinking with fans in 'Spoons at Wolves were the actions of a coach who places a lot of stock in getting fans on board and is skilled at doing it.

And it's an excellent podcast. Matt Davies deserves his success. Well done to him.

Although hopefully this doesnt mean the podcast becomes a bit more 'official' and therefore has to toe the club line a bit more

I originally found the production issues and occasional minor cock-ups a little irritating but now I think they make the whole thing more relatable and human. I genuinely think the podcast would lose something if it were more slick and polished. As it is, it feels like he’s a fan like the rest of us and refreshingly free of ego with it - if he made it sound more professional it would somehow feel more detached from us, the fan base. And I echo what people are saying about the variety of regulars, guests and topics. For me, Forest Focus is my first choice of podcast when I go for my daily walk and one of the many reasons for wanting us to stay up is for Matt and FF to continue to flourish.

Let me add my wishes for Matt and Forest Focus. Really great to see its growth and establishment as the pre-eminent Forest podcast

While I am on this thread, came across the below, and has not seen it elsewhere. Forest players playing a darts professional (Damon Heta). Milenković is really good

(And we dont have two Murillos but there are two Omaris here - and one is taller)

Yes, this is always the difficulty. What does the trade off look like. Having honest opinion which is huge part of what makes the podcast successful to toeing a club line can compromise the integrity.

I think it's important for Matt to not become too drawn into the club whilst still managing to have an arms length relationship.
