Pete O’Rourke reporting our interest in the danish winger, currently at Watford.

Played 20 games, 1 goal and 5 assists. Most interestingly is all of those assists came from his 9 starts.

I'm going full Alf/Marriott on this one:

Alf you say? Then let me add that Zinckernagel is a suggestion of Modesto:

a) Isn't Simon Hunt the scouter who was a specialist in the Scandinavian market?

b) Is he still at Forest? He was coveted by Wolves, I read, but I don't know what happened.

The reason I'm asking is because all of a sudden we're linked with three or four players for Scandinavian countries (a market where we lack connections), and you bought Bachirou in the summer.

Incidentally, one of those Scandinavian targets would fit in very nice at Forest, I think:

Philip Zinckernagel, right winger, 25, playing for the certain champion of the Norwegian league, FK Bodø/Glimt (20 points ahead, with two matches remaining), and with spectacular statistics: 18 goals and 23 assists in this season alone!

He seems to have excellent pace, good finishes and good field vision in the videos:

Re: Phillip Zinckernagel

General consensus from Watford fans seems to suggest they would be mad to let him go.

Good sign that he is decent but maybe out of reach.

Makes a change from the usual view of fans of the selling club of the players we are linked with. A well rounded view from the fans who see a player play week in week out is usually a pretty indication on if the player will be a success or not.

Phillip Zinckernagel sounds like a Jewish baker who fled Germany in 1938 and set up a hippy commune in Denmark in the late 60s, only to have the local authorities view him with suspicion.

Re: Phillip Zinckernagel

Assuming there's a grain of truth in this link, and even if his club are amenable, it would seem odd if the player is enthused by the prospect of staying in the Championship if it was the potential of PL football that attracted him to Watford as recently as January?

Do we have secret scouts at Watford ? Raided murray and garner last Jan and now this lad. Hope he's attainable. Last season was his settling down period, the next season could be his time to shine.

And the other winger who tore Milan a new one, who they subsequently bought, is currently available too.

.... For a mere 10m (Milan paid 5).

Was great at Bodø/Glimt in Norway. Stood out so much that he should be able to do will in the Championship.
Needs to have the managers confidence and given a long run in the team. Perhaps Watford has realised this, hence he could be available.
Perhaps a sign that someone is going to fork our for young Brennan?

With a name like Zinkernagel I doubt he would have had to flee Germany due to being Jewish - The name sounds extremely Germanic and not in the least Yiddish to me

He can't bake either. That's why he had to flee.

More importantly, can he provide consistent and accurate delivery into the box?

I would say that has to be one of the main reasons we would be targeting him Otis.

The stats don't lie. We carry zero threat from set-piece and it starts from the delivery.
