Given that we already have two players who can play right back (Neco and Ola) and no natural left footed full back at the club, I'm not really sure what the point in signing another right back would be. Unless this is one for Oly...

It would make sense wouldn’t it. Williams is our Left Back as he plays there for Wales anyway. We do need a back up at RB. When Aina was injured we ended up playing Dominguez at WB.

Suppose Neco and Ola are the "starters", I think it was evident last season Neco is better on the left than he is on the right so I'd assume he's considered a LB by the club now. Maffeo made a senior Argentina squad 18 months ago (although didn't get a cap), seems like a cheap but handy enough squad filler.

Does that mean he was being kept out of the 11 by...Montiel?!

Seems like another bench warmer. Have we been linked with any player yet that’s going to improve our first 11?

I’m not sure if Neco is better on left side. Perhaps more that he has learnt the role of full back in last 18 months or so and has only really played left back to test it out. He is one of my favourite players, but I do think if CHO is also playing on left , with him and Neco both more comfortable cutting inside it restricts us a little. Brentford away it worked really well and more examples, but it would be nice to give Nuno a quality option of a left footed left back , especially if we need to chase a game and is comfortable bombing on outside of CHO.

Agree with that, it does hamper us with quick balls into the box from the left and that is a frustration on occasion but all of the other aspects of his game looked much stronger on the left last season. He went back to RB against Everton towards the end of the season and I thought he struggled, granted it's a small sample size.
