Rather than speculate as to his quality even before he has kicked a ball on the training ground, never mind being seen by any Forest fans, bar Strummer, I think we should wait and see what he brings to the party.
In Cooper/Murphy we trust... absolutely.

I know nothing of him other than the videos, where he looks like one of those 'show you loads of the ball without seeming to lose possession very often' merchants who make me nervous. How is his defensive play? Does he break things up well or is his strength more that he drives forward?

I imagine we will all find out when we see him play…

Why do people need to be nervous of new signings? It’s not like every Tom Dick and Harry we sign from English leagues we know everything about turns out even half decent.

We are most likely going to lose more games than we win, our target is to stay up. Can’t people try to be positive? 😂

Not sure you're implying negativity in my post, but to be clear I was asking those (or probably the one) who have seen him play regularly.

Question for Strummer as you know him better than most. What do you make of these comments in the Athletic I saw that Stuttgart weren’t that bothered about letting him go?
Allegedly they had issues with him because
- his poor attacking return - only scored 4 goals in whole career
- his decision-making has also been questioned
- his ability to read the game needs improvement.
Is there anything in this or is it a load of bollox?

The club have felt that he has not really kicked-on to the potential they feel he has; the player himself clearly has all the tools, but the feeling here is that he was going a bit stale, and that a new challenge would benefit both parties.

In truth, he has played in a side that haven‘t been challenging, and last season were decimated by injuries and covid infections (the club had 25 incidents during the season of a player being out with coronavirus) and at one stage, the only two fit strikers in the entire club were an 18-year old and a 20-year old, and it was in a team that finished 15th (on goal difference).

I have no doubt about his class, I suspect he’s one of those who needs a challenge, and he will get one at Forest. When his name came up, as you can see in this very thread, I thought that he would be a good fit for how Steve Cooper likes to play.

We shall see. Personally, I think he’s going to surprise a few people. In a good way.

I would add, he is still only 24!

Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a good weekend. Here’s a video breaking down everything you can expect to see from Orel Mangala next season for those interested. Another top talent who’ll bring plenty both on and off the pitch for Steve Cooper. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts and am happy to answer any questions you may have in mind, cheers!

Is there a name for it when you have Orel after Anel?

The use of the adjective "mythical" had me delving into The Oxford English Dictionary (Shorter version).
It is absolutely spot on in terms of the definition: idealised, especially with regard to the past.
Hopefully, Orel will be part of the writing of present glories.
