Because you couldn't afford to sign him on a perm and doing well in your league likely wouldn't have raised his value the following season. Though thinking about it you know that and you just wanted him, which is fair.

We paid too much for him to be an impact sub. Just like Bakwa. Same applies to McAtee and Ndoye but seemingly OG intends to use them regularly. Its too much for us to have tied up in impact subs.

Saw something on social media that said 4m euro loan fee, 40m euro option, Hutchinson pushed for the move but Forest are happy to have him back if he doesn’t leave permanently.

37.5m was his full price with all add ons by the way. I wouldn’t be surprised if we paid closer to 25m up front.

I thought he was the best of the three new wingers last season, but I’ve also been saying all summer that I would happily take what we paid for Hutch, Ndoye and Bakwa so 40m euros sounds good to me.

I suppose part of the deal Glasner made when he arrived was that some would have to go for others to come in, so he's sifting players out that way. Then it's the ones who are easier to shift go first.

Strikes me are a very organised, very calculating guy.

Think 40m will probably be around Milan's 7 or 8th highest transfer fee. Unlikely to happen unless he storms it with 10 plus goals.

Always going to be judged against the price tag and he was never going to meet that value.
For me a very tidy top level championship player but never going to dominate in the Prem.

Hopefully he does well at Milan as it means there is a decent chance we get close to our money back, worst case he comes back a better player.
