This is a very valid point.

Forest only achieved a modicum of success (and got promoted) when they stopped f***ing about and put a proper structure into the club, with people who knew what they were doing, like Dane Murphy, and the proper scouting and analysts setup, rather than the previous hierarchy where the club signed anyone who’d been identified by a text from a random agent (or so it seemed).
the issue is that we had such a structure and for some reason it was lost, people left the building, and now it remains to be seen what tomorrow will bring. changing the manager is just minor at the moment to me

Getting more optimistic each post Karteo! He might yet see the full season out. Redemption story in Europe incoming.
Realistic.

Perhaps it's the bitterness of losing a manager that, despite his mistakes, offered so much to my club. A manager that fought and worked like very very few in our history. A very dedicated and honourable man that has my greatest respect and I will always praise him.

Perhaps it was his time after 4+ years in the club. Perhaps his circle has closed. But the bitterness is still there. He made his share of mistakes especially during the last 1-1.5 years but the club is down in quality of players these 1-1.5 years and some critical players are overloaded, older etc. So it's not just his mistake and just by changing the manager the players quality won't improve instantly.

Such changes have a positive effect in short time. But we have to do more and change drastically the team.

So it could be bitterness too or realization that Corberan might be a good manager but the timing is really difficult for him.

But I am an olympiakos dedicated fan. I always support the manager. I will do the same. He just needs to deliver and pretty quickly. And the team has to support it because there's turbulence ahead

There is nobody wanting him to stay for the whole season and further more than me. Because that'll be a proof that we are successful

Knowing nothing about the Greek league aside from a few years at Apollon Larissa on FM where the league rules confused me...

Even if Corberan doesn't start well is there any real danger of Olympiakos not winning the title? I just looked on Wikipedia and they've won it 21 times out of the last 25...that's way more dominant than PSG, Bayern or Ajax are in their leagues.

our opponents are better this year and we look a bit rusty and not that fresh. yes there is a real danger. we'll see how it will go.

Corberan has our backing but he has to be ruthless and clever in getting the points from the beginning even if that means that he has to sacrifice some of his ideas. He looks like a manager that is not selfish and very adaptable and i hope he'll prove that

You've arrived at station two on @GreeksBearingGifts Oly-fan curve. That didn't take long. 😁

i was there already mate :)

but i always believe, regarding managers, that it's more important to find the proper manager than the best :)

i watched Corberan's work while following last season's championship because of Forest, and i don't believe he is a bad manager. I doubt he is the proper fit. we'll see

Sorry if this has already been posted, but there are rumours that there will indeed be a friendly between our two clubs, but in winter, during the the Qatar World Cup. Judging by our current state, you'll have the chance to take revenge for your previous loss.

It'll be in Athens for the weather. While not holiday weather in late November, Athens is more clement than Nottingham at that time of year, surely?

Chernobyl is probably more clement that Nottingham in November, to be fair?

it can be pretty cold here in November with something around 15-20 C :p
That might be cold for you.

In Nottingham, that's shorts and t-shirt weather.

Nottingham in November is probably around 5-8 C with a Siberian wind chill to make you feel colder.

Off to Cyprus for the final playoff game, would be a disaster if they don't beat them.
