I'm looking forward to the new season and the pre-season friendlies.
I have no idea whether Glasner is going to take us to the dizzy heights of the top 6 of the Premier League.
I just hope he gets the buy-in and commitment from the players, and time to impose his methods on the team.
TalkShite are giving him 6 months at most...

Top 6 would be mint obviously, but I'm more expecting and hoping that we land a cup trophy now, whilst not sweating buckets on relegation every week either.

A few mid table seasons with some silverware would be gravy for me.

Whilst wearing last seasons training gear. If they wanted to draw proper traffic to it then I would suggest that announcing it at 9am after one of England's best world cup wins when people are either in bed or hungover at work isn't the best strategy either.

Have we had a change in the media and marketing team at the top recently. It all feels very amateur hour.

Happy with this. Probably the best we could expect at this point. I'd be delighted with mid-table next season and a decent run in the cups, not sure if that will be enough for the big man though.

I dont think it was particularly toxic. I maybe looking at it through rose tinted nuclear reactors though as I see the championship shenanigans as particularly toxic anything less then thats just banter.

It was toxic from the point of Postie's appointment, it turned poisonous when we went 3-1 down at home to Midtjylland. It eased when Dyche came in but the atmosphere was going downhill prior to his ejection.

I don't think we'll see anything like the Midtjylland reaction after a bad result under our new Supreme Leader but expectations are high. Onwards and upwards with the next stage of the Odyssey of Big M!

We are not going to get an upgrade for the next 3 years so very interesting times.

I saw him at Wolfsburg and Eintracht, and in games against my local side.

He’s always been considered an astute tactician, flexible, and gets his teams playing decent football.

He was a previous suggestion when Forest were looking for a coach, before Palace snapped him up as well, and he’ll get the players going and produce some decent football.

What is crazy is that we were basically 3 more wins away from Europe last season.

I'm not saying that is where we have to end up but I think we would all be disappointed if we weren't in the frame at the end of the season.

Especially if we make a couple of good signings, which we have to assume are part of why Glasner has chosen to come here.

We haven't won anything since 1990, so next year it will be 37 years. If Glasner wins anything -- one of the domestic cups, or the Europa or the Conference -- he'll have fully justified his appointment.
He's shown he can do it with Frankfurt and Palace so, with the backing he's going to get from EM, there's every reason to be optimistic that he bring us some silverware. For me, anyhow, that's enough.

For what its worth. I think OG did remarkable things at Palace.

We've all spoken of the difficulty of medium sized clubs to fight on all fronts, in the league and cups and even more so if you throw Europe in to the mix. Every now and then a club like Palace or us can spring a surprise and do well in 2 out of 3 or 4 but not consistently and not without gambling on signings etc.

Glasner managed to keep Palace out of relegation trouble when it became clear they had a shot in the cups and Europe, had they not done well in them I think it reasonable to suggest their league position would have been higher.

In the meantime, as an ambitious and driven manager, he clearly wanted a longer term vision and belief from the club; that they wanted more and would back him to build on where they were. Instead he saw that at best they were going to be standing still. He was losing good players, hard to say if the purchases of BJ and JSL were his, but was seeing his squad being depleted, and aging, with players unlikely to move, or have a great value if they did, to fund a rebuild.

I'm sure he wants a Chelsea or a Liverpool, but throwing his toys out the pram a bit has raised more questions than Iraola. I think that's put some off. So just when it looked like a gamble for him along comes an ambitious owner, with funds, a decent squad and the chance of a full pre-season with arguably a higher global profile than Palace, what's not to love.
