I will start and finish using the words of Giuseppe Garibaldi:
“I offer neither pay, nor quarters, nor food; I offer only hunger, thirst, forced marches, battles and death. Let him who loves his country with his heart, and not merely with his lips, follow me”.
West Ham United: I’m forever blowing bubbles (Michael Jackson wants a word) ´
Nottingham Forest: Mull of Kintyre (top 50 all-time sales)
Our club has such great heritage, and now, after 23 years, premiership football returns home to the City Ground. Points on the board and home advantage, but still a team learning about each other and needing time to settle.
Interesting Club Facts:
West Ham: They claim that they won the world cup in 1966 having 3 of the England squad in their team (Peters, Hurst, Moore).
Forest: Where to start… 1865, Garibaldi, AC Milan, Independiente, Arsenal, Circular Crossbar, more European Cups (now champions league) than First Division (now Premiership) titles, first 1m transfer, Andrea Silenzi….
All our home games have been sell-outs and an envious atmosphere, which, I prey we continue to produce. So those who have the privilege to attend next week, remember you’re not paying for entertainment, you are a significant part of the game and have a role to play, a job to do. We expect players to leave nothing on the pitch, please leave nothing in the stands. 100% support, no frustrations, no booing, no leaving early (see Cristiano Ronaldo). We support the team through thick and thin, in the EPL, in the Championship and if needed I’m sure we´d get 15/20k in the National league.
So be loud and proud, spend some cash, and make our home a fortress.
“Let those only return to their homes who are called by the imperative duties which they owe to their families, and those who by their glorious wounds have deserved the credit of their country”.
