I will start and finish using the words of Giuseppe Garibaldi:

I offer neither pay, nor quarters, nor food; I offer only hunger, thirst, forced marches, battles and death. Let him who loves his country with his heart, and not merely with his lips, follow me”.

West Ham United: I’m forever blowing bubbles (Michael Jackson wants a word) ´

Nottingham Forest: Mull of Kintyre (top 50 all-time sales)

Our club has such great heritage, and now, after 23 years, premiership football returns home to the City Ground. Points on the board and home advantage, but still a team learning about each other and needing time to settle.

Interesting Club Facts:

West Ham: They claim that they won the world cup in 1966 having 3 of the England squad in their team (Peters, Hurst, Moore).

Forest: Where to start… 1865, Garibaldi, AC Milan, Independiente, Arsenal, Circular Crossbar, more European Cups (now champions league) than First Division (now Premiership) titles, first 1m transfer, Andrea Silenzi….

All our home games have been sell-outs and an envious atmosphere, which, I prey we continue to produce. So those who have the privilege to attend next week, remember you’re not paying for entertainment, you are a significant part of the game and have a role to play, a job to do. We expect players to leave nothing on the pitch, please leave nothing in the stands. 100% support, no frustrations, no booing, no leaving early (see Cristiano Ronaldo). We support the team through thick and thin, in the EPL, in the Championship and if needed I’m sure we´d get 15/20k in the National league.

So be loud and proud, spend some cash, and make our home a fortress.

“Let those only return to their homes who are called by the imperative duties which they owe to their families, and those who by their glorious wounds have deserved the credit of their country”.

Has he singed yet?
Thinking a 1-1 draw here. We're essentially playing out our pre-season over the course of these first few games. Once we gel, we'll be lot more competitive.

I think we'll start to see some promising signs especially with the crowd behind us. I hope we'll be good enough for at least a draw I'll go with 2-2:

3-1 to the mighty reds. Awoniyi to open his account, mckenna and cornet own goal after he forgets he ended up picking west ham (followed by him running over to the police, who he thinks are the home fans, pointing to the label on the inside of his shirt, thinking it to be the club logo).

We will win, 100%.

3-1 Forest and Twitter now declares us champions of England after we were relegated this afternoon.

Well, the Newcastle game, in places, looked like the times where we put our kids out as sacrificial lambs in cup games against Prem teams. But this will be better, much better. Cooper's post match was absolutely nailed on. Quite simply, we defended with courage but need to be much braver, and more composed, on the ball and I think we will.

I'm going for a few changes for this one. I think Mangala and Awoniyi might start and possibly Colback might shift to LWB but that would be harsh on Toffolo.

1 each here, a bit more positivity and spells of play that'll give us the encouragement needed. I do still expect West Ham to be a level above us though.

0-2 in this one. Think our only point this month will be Everton before we pick up in September.

Another tough game.

Need the crowd to be loud and proud. Make it a difficult atmosphere for West Ham.

Newcastle know how to do that and we need to take something from that and last season and find a way to win.

Loved the Michael Jackson quip.

I would like the same team to run out against West Ham so they can gel.

0-0 Half Time. 2-0 Forest at the final whistle.

In a way I agree but should we be concerned that our record signing was benched in favour of Surridge who has qualities but missed half of pre season through injury and probably didn't get in our side last season when Davis/Grabban were fit?

I think it makes sense, let Surridge put his self about for 60 mins and then bring on Awoniyi to use his pace in the channels and try stretch an already tiring defence

Obviously having someone like Davis doing a 'demolition job' for 60 mins before unleashing Awoniyi would be a better alternative, but considering our limitations I have no problem with Surridge starting

If it was up to me the only change i'd consider making next sunday is Colback in at LB and getting another CM alongside O'Brien

Nottingham's dirty secret
The atmosphere will have us pumped up.

Mangala needs to start alongside O'Brien.

Awonyi will start & we'll win 2-0.

I do think we need a result here after having a really tough time of it yesterday. A repeat of yesterday could be so damaging for our confidence going into a vital 6 pointer at Everton.

I'd take a draw and a much improved performance here.

I just hope the stadium is rocking and some folk being moved about hasn’t affected the atmosphere.

We need every home game to be like the scouse game last year.
