Nuno Espírito Santo

I'm sorry but for me, it is galling to see Nuno do for West Ham what he did for us after Cooper.

Can't shake that feeling of 'what if'.

Ive got the be honest I see the reactions to how hes doing there and personally I think theyre a bit over the top

I thought Nuno was a great manager before coming to us, and an even better one after having him here

But I see things like people saying hes working miracles and how West Ham were down without him and...I dont get it

He took them over very early on, was in charge for their 6th game of the season. I didnt see one person in preseason discuss West Ham as a side who could potentially go down, although I could be corrected on that

Theyre a good solid premier league side that he's been there for the majority of the season, and hes got 29 points after 27 games. Enough for 41 points over a season, or 16th last season

I know West Ham weren't great in those first 5 games of the season, but if Nuno was getting those exact same results and points without that bad start I think the West Ham fans would be fuming, rather than talking about the how he's saving them

Again, said by a guy who rates Nuno massively

That was on potter , the start of the season was all potter's team, the defence had issues, his starting central midfielders were guido rodriguez and jwp, 2 slow midfielders that will never control midfield and a old german lump upfront to replace antonio as well as an aging injury prone callum wilson on the bench.
As we well know, nuno works best when he can work with his players in preseason for that bonding period and players can have the time to absorb what he's coaching them. if west ham can survive this season, i don't expect them to be near bottom next season with nuno there

Again thats another thing I keep reading, how it was all Potters fault. Whilst I get what youre saying Potters return of 3 points in first 5 games was unexpectedly shockingly bad, but Nuno then only got 4 points from his first 5 games, but people put that on Potter despite Nuno instantly dropping JWP and randomly decided inverted fullbacks was the way to go

Same as I see people bringing up the fact West Ham were 6 points from safety at one point as prove Nuno doing excellently to save them, wgen they were 6 points away after Nuno was in charge for a run of 10 league games without a win, getting 4 points out of 30. That was worse than Potter

Like I say not saying he's doing bad,but I'm suprised at just how much praise hes getting for what seems like achieving the bare minimum of what you'd expect for a team like West Ham. He took them over when they were in the relegation zone by 1 point, and 27 games later they could technically end the weekend in the relegation zone by 1 point still. Its almost like people forget how early he took over or how their worst form this season came under him rather than Potter

To be fair he was shit at West ham untill he lined mendes pockets and then came good, what his done after that has been pretty impressive. 1.5 points over his last 10 games, would have been pretty much our form last season.

I dont blame him to be fair, most would have walked after the pitch confrontation with big man. Wasn't the best way to go but I dont blame him. Made it clear he didn't want to.work under those conditions and its on the club to decide who they wanted to back.

So clear that he didn’t want to work under those conditions that he subsequently signed a new three year contract.
