axe to grind
"Pummeling curveball from Fucked Up channeling the world of HC that birthed them -- despotic and horrendously sludgy riffs exploding in octaves lower than Hades, crashing against hellish bellowing all while the rhythm section heaves at a pace that only Noothgrush, Crossed Out, Kiss it Goodbye, and Bloodlet would tread upon. Topped off with an absolutely despicable cover of Saint-Saens "The Aquarium" this is the mythologically psychedelic sludge record you never thought Fucked Up would make. 4 tracks of pure audio excretion."

Do you like God-damn, low-down, dirty Blues music? Do you like bearded men from Texas?

If so, you really should listen to „RAW“ the newly released sort-of live ZZ Top Album, because it is absolutely bloody fantastic.

Whatever happened to Chaka Demus and Pliers?

Saw these at a Radio One roadshow in De*by's Markeaton Park in 1993. It was at the time the biggest ever attendance for a Radio One road show. But this was because much of the crowd were Take That fans expecting them to be performing. They didn't, though the big screen did show the first ever screening of the video for 'Pray'. At the end of the broadcast, people were invited to stay for a set by Luke Goss and the band of thieves. I guess that the number of ex Bros fans in the crowd was limited. Cue mass exodus.
Karl Bartos, formerly of Kraftwerk, has written a book about his time in the legendary German synth band:

That‘s one I shall add to my Christmas list!
I have a signed copy sitting right next to me.
It's bloody huge.
