I just watched these highlights and by gosh you are right lol.

Some of the goalkeeping was just bizarre. The West Brom keeper seemed to want to run to where the ball was going instead of diving.
I saw that, she seemed to move in the manner of a crab.

The one common denominator in women's football is that the goalkeeping is horrific at every level. Womens/gitls bodies just aren't shaped or have the physiology to do it.

I speak from a place of having two daughters that play at pro clubs albeit one is 15 and the other is 7.

The goals in the women's game need to be made smaller. The funny thing is that the 14 and 15 year old boys don't play on full size goals yet those lads are in the most case the same size as women but most are already bigger, yet they put the women in full size nets. I firmly believe that the only reason the FA won't reduce the goal size is because it's almost an admittion that the women's game is inferior to the men.

There was a similar / not unrelated debate in rugby about the ball size if I remember correctly. Don’t know what the outcome was.

Cue: ball size / game for gentlemen with odd-shaped balls gags

I think at this point it's worth mentioning.

The West Brom keeper got injured, with no dedicated sub on the bench, and so they played the entire second half with an outfielder in goal.

I appreciate that the young ladies enjoy playing football, but am I right in thinking the whole Ladies football movement has been hi-jacked by rich men who are milking for all its worth (to their bank balances)?
The way the ladies play the game is different to the men, and that isn't meant as a criticism.
Long may the ladies enjoy their sport, but they should be wary of the men who don't give a rat's arse about them, and are only after the new income stream they see.

It sounds like the whole league is a mess currently. Hull City Ladies have accused the owner of sexual harassment, aggressive actions, and even maybe fiddling the books. In retalation said owner has petitioned for relegation (they survived comfortably) as a "punishment" for the allegations.

Shades of David Luiz via gamepad?

Unlikely, every women's team runs at a loss.

Aside from (seemingly) Wolves and Hull..

To be fair though - there's not a whole lot of Mens teams that don't run at a significant loss (barring the odd season but usually that's a one off thing). NFFC certainly do and likely will for the foreseeable even with (potentially) CL revenue.

And if women’s teams are loss making, how come Chelsea were able to sell Chelsea Women’s team for £200 million?
Because that transaction was about as fair and legitimate as a Seven-Euro note.

It was great to the the Forest Women parade their trophies at the WFCG on Thursday night. They have completed a fantastic season and huge credit to the owner, Carly and all the players. I never cease to be impressed by how they go about their work.

Next season, the Championship. It's a massive step up in quality and so, sadly, twelve players are to leave the club this summer (details on the official site). Thanks to every single one of them and I have a feeling that the team will be made strong enough to cope next season. It's far too much to hope that they will win another promotion straight away, but the top tier is the aspiration and that's just marvellous.

There's an opportunity for the women next season, as the WSL is moving to 14 instead of 12 teams in a couple of years (subject to FA approval).

This means 2-3 teams will be getting promoted depending on a playoff between the 3rd team and the 3rd lowest WSL team.

It'll take a huge effort and investment to be in that top 3, but its the best chance Forest will get for a while.

The one that caught me by surprise is the one earlier today, where apparently we paid a release clause fee for the player.

Granted, it will be tiny relative to the fees that the mens team pay, but I hadn't realised we were at that point with the Womens Team yet.
