Lady at work is into her netball, played at a very good level, though apparently she's staying supporting Loughborough Lightening. Apparently London are the favourites to win the league so tough start for Forest as a new team.

Note to EM - buy two very tall netball players stick one up front and one at the back. Has Milenkovic got any sisters?

Pulse 73 - 51 Forest

Comfortable win for Pulse in the end, it's all about finding our feet this first season for Forest
Heard it was on the red button so switched over from the Geordie love-in out of casual interest. There were 2 minutes left. I could see London were comfortably winning but was puzzled as the colours of the teams’ captions didn’t match their colours on the court. London wore pink but the graphic had their name in navy(black?) while we wore navy(black?) and our name was in a sort of pinky shade of red. It was only when I saw the famous tree badge in a close-up that I realised which team was which (I’d been wondering why so many of the crowd were cheering when we got the ball…)

Yeah I noticed that, it was because we were wearing our away dresses and Pulse's colours were normally fuchsia and black / navy blue (so basically our away colours) but this season they've gone more pink and obviously the BBC hadn't updated the captions, hence the confusion

I'm loving the fact that EM has started at least the basics of a sporting club model similar to how its works at Olympiacos (please add Volleyball to the model) - creating Forest Netball has caused quite a stir in the game, one of my daughter's best friends is only 15 but played for England in Ireland last week and she was talking about it, not that it's going to persuade her to change her plan to go to Uni in Loughborough mind you.

Exactly the same as my eldest, she's a huge Lightning fan and wants to go Loughborough uni, although I have noticed she's started to take a slight interest in NF Netball so you never know...

EM is a mile ahead of the game here. Our netball team is immediately a hundred times more recognisable than any other team in the league because they play under the same name, badge and organisation as the football club.
I think the only other one is Leeds play under the 'Rhino' name, but other than that they are all stand-alone teams. Like you say, ours is by far the most recognisable, and never mind just England, I mean on a world level.

Textbook Loughborough resident response. Bloody students!

Bet you opposed the closing of Carillon Court too you luddite.
It is sad to see the precinct go. I walked through town the other day and I had The Specials playing in my head.
