Nottingham Forest Netball Club

My daughter has played netball a lot when younger and has got the Forest bug in recent years (although never has a chance to see them  ) I can see her maybe regaining an interest in the sport and if so I’d go with her to support “our” team.
Yeah fair point, and to be honest would there even be a thread today about Netball if it wasnt forest related but Nottingham Outlaws for example? I doubt it so it is a good idea and my poo pooing was misplaced. I have never talked about Netball so much in my life 😅😅

To quote Captain Melchit - You should never poo-poo a poo-poo

Should I put my browser in Incognito mode before I search fistball? Being in Germany that could bring up a couple of results I don't want embedded in my cache and history.
Is fistball handball are are they different sports?

Fistball - or Faustball, in German, is completely different to handball. It’s more akin to volleyball.

Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fistball

By a strange quirk of fate, this years German Faustball Meisterschaft (German Championship for Teams) is being held in my manor, literally about 400m from my apartment, so I’ll be checking it out: https://stammheim24.de/

Fistball sounds like something Norman Lamont would play (one for the kids there).
Ah. Poor old Norman never lived that down. Julian Clary had him stitched up like a kipper.

Right where's the "w**k" and cock and balls hidden?

Is he one that managed to not get kicked off his course at Chesterfield art college.
Getting kicked out of Ches Vegas Art College is a badge of honour for all serious artists.

In my younger days I played Volleyball - in Nottm I played for what was then Radio Trent Rockets and we had many foreign students come along from the likes of Greece and Turkey who were amazed that even though we were a national league side we paid for everything ourselves, on the continent most clubs are part of organisations like football clubs or companies and they had everything paid for and some even received a small stipend for playing.

Man Utd did try a kind multisport approach, when at Uni there I played for them but the only thing the club offered us was access to their high altitude summer training in Utah or somewhere like that... as long as we paid for it of course.

I was gutted when I made the squad for the World Student Games in 1989 which was to be held in Brazil that year... until it was all cancelled and they did a smaller event in Germany which didn't include volleyball.

For reference we're rubbish at Volleyball in the UK - I played for a scratch England U21's side once and we were beaten by Paris University.

Should branch out into beach volley ball.

I can see that getting a good following - our Brazilian recruitment is good, build the name and image in South America.

I heard from someone ITK there were plans for this but Nottingham Beach didn't meet minimum requirements.

I believe the plan is now to wait for Toton Beach to open up to put the wheels in motion.

I have banged on about the sport on here so much I won't bore anyone too much

But both of my daughters play netball competitively and are absolutely crazy about it

It's a far more technical sport than people generally appreciate

So I'd encourage everyone to get on board with Nottingham Forest Netball! Although it is a drum I'm having to beat in my own household as my wife and said daughters are all staunch Loughborough Lightning fans

Apologies Mr B I take my comment back, certainly don't want to discourage kids from any sport

Stand by my comment on NFL, Basketball & Baseball though

No apology necessary Eddie!

It is almost exclusively a girls sport in this country so you aren't wrong

It is an exciting sport to watch though, which is why I say to those who know nothing about netball, maybe read up, watch a game or two, and get on board!

Went out with a girl that played for the county at Netball in the 80'/90s I played rugby for the county...she said at the time enjoy my 38dd boobs are good for now, but sport bras are crapi n my size

I did enjoy...we all move on.

Mind you my legs are bloody knackered though, with Rugby not the girl...possibly her boobs.

Seriously it used to look like a crap game at school compared with basketball that was becoming popular in the 70s and 80s.

When I used to watch her and her mates play, not only was it bloody well organised, it was fairly well orchestrated violence.

I haven't seen any recently, this is a string to our bow.
