I was saying in another thread recently that I think social media is the worst thing to happen to society, but its also the worst thing to happen to the internet too.

The internet used to be an interesting and fun place in the 00's before social media became mainstream, and forums used to be the main places where people used to go to discuss things, have a laugh, find information or discover new stuff. Nowadays the internet is just full of clickbait or ragebait, and in cases like this article just frankly absolute bullshit.

I am really thankful this place still exists, because if places like Twitter or Facebook were the only places to discuss Forest or football online I wouldn't bother at all.
 
Not sure why they felt the need to go in 2 footed on him, of course he's a downgrade on Aina (the pre injury version at least) but he's done a decent enough job for someone that's having to learn and adapt to this level while being thrown in the thick of it

If they were looking to offer reasonable criticism they could highlight his lack of pace, but I suppose that's too boring and lacks the sensationalism modern journalists insist on

He’s doing fine relative any reasonable expectations though. Especially with regards to his transfer fee.

He is a bit slow to be fair, yes. Doesn’t always have to prove fatal.

And it’s not “the likes of Everton” is it. It was specifically Jack Grealish we assume Dyche was worried about.

It is absolute prefabricated, made up bollocks, by a "journalist" who has probably barely seen the lad play, bar on a couple of occasions on television.

I would sooner believe what I read in Pravda.

I think them recently publishing an article demonising Forest fans for "poverty chanting" at matches that actual people in poverty can't afford to attend whilst ensuring that people in actual poverty can't access the article by putting it behind a paywall sums them up. Click bait bollocks for the social media age.

As Alf says, you get more insight and information by just going to football forums and finding out stuff from people who actually watch and/or go to the games.

Dunno really. Not fully convinced it was all Zinchenko’s fault we lost to be honest, or that any other defender we might have picked would have made any difference whatsoever.

It was more the utter inability to create anything in the final third. That said I hope we can get someone a lot better than Zinchenko in pronto.

True it wasn't his fault, but I thought he was pretty shit and Savona might've offered a bit more than he did.

As you say, the main reason we lost is we created nothing (probably because we were wedded to the idea of slinging meat and drink crosses onto the Everton centre halves heads for 90 minutes!).

They rate Zinc at 139 tbf. I'm just having a look through the list now. Cuiba what his name and Gunn are 153 and 148 respectively for never playing for us.

Seems it's generally shit for everyone and people in the comments from all sorts of clubs are ripping into it. However rage bait will drive more comments and more clicks than good journalism. Gotta keep the money flowing.... God I hate the modern internet.

I agree with you, he is, but his playing record indicates that he's primarily a right-back who can move inside to CB - that's not to say he didn't originally start there however.

That’s just nonsense. He’s been solid and scored a couple of important goals. He's better at football than the Athletic are at journalism, in this case.

While we're slagging off individual players what about this fella? Really shocking last night. So slow the fullback went past him as if he wasn't there. Allowed his man a free header first half so doesn't look capable of playing CB either. Another crap signing. Play Abbott next time if you need FB cover. He's never let us down like Savona did last night.
 
Yep Savona was useless last night as well. It looked like it was his first ever game in the way he was constantly off the pace. What I couldn't understand is that Dyche had Abbott preparing to come on for ages, presumably at RB but chose not to do it.

Aina was also shocking but I was really surprised when Williams came on for him and not Savona.
