I remember reading somewhere that MSD have their fingers in quite a few pies, as far as lending to football clubs are concerned.

True, I was thinking of the FFP angle, because I would guess at the moment they don't have a big income other than gate money and TV deal. The initial big money will be spent on the infrastructure like Man City, then the ackers will really roll in and they can spend their money on players.

I think they are in the best state in the entire country in terms of FFP because Ashley ran such a tight ship. They could spend the biggest amount in the country if they wanted too I believe.

MSD are basically the only big lender at the minute because banks wont lend to clubs. If you don't have much money yourself to put in the club, MSD are one of the only options.

I would always be concerned if you are a Prem/Championship club and loaning from external sources nowadays anyway. It is a recipe for disaster. If you can't afford to bankroll a club somebody that can will probably be willing to buy it.
