Reports of Samba wanting to leave this summer. That might explain why we are looking at Pope.

If Samba wants more than our wage structure will allow then good luck persuading Pope to sign for those wages.

You say gambling, I say trading.

A respected journalist has been briefed that Samba is reluctant to sign a new contract - maybe he does want to stay in his nice West Bridgford house with his family - but his advisors are saying move, you're worth more

How can they justify this, and discover his true worth - only be alterting potential suitors

Meanwhile, We need to source potential replacements - what will they cost? Is it worth the trade?

I'm sure Brentford fans were upset when Will Grigg was sold - then replaced by Muapay - then replaced by Watkins - then replaced by Toney. But they got their promotion, and a brand new stadium all backed by one of the owners at the bottom of the wealth table funded by the £150m of funds generated from player sales. [

Unfortunately, no room for sentiment, we have to move forward. Trust the recruitemnt plan that delivered last year, to move up a notch this

QUOTE=Any Time Now;3562020]Moneyball doesn't involve selling one of your most valuable assets after a promotion campaign to help pay towards an even bigger fee to potentially replace him, that's gambling

Moneyball is analyzing data to identify cheaper alternatives to target when you're priced out of the top markets, smaller investments with bigger +EV returns[/QUOTE]

I have just been speaking to a Geordie who works for BT (got £14/month off my landline and broadband contract).
He told me Newcastle have just signed Nick Pope.
Could be BUPA...

Another setback for Darlow.

Its being run on BBC radio-not confirmed but "close".

Good luck to the lad-wheres Darlow these days?
Darlow was linked with the No.2 position at ManUre, but Tom Heaton has stolen that one.
Poor old Darlow.
He was the makeweight in the Lascelles deal, and now it looks like no-one wants him.
Shame, really, as I thought he looked to have a promising career ahead of him.
Now it is behind him.

Is he worth a punt or has the ship sailed?.

Is he worth a punt or has the ship sailed?.
I am not a great fan of bringing players back for a 2nd stint (although Hodgy, Reidy and Daws probably discount my concerns).
With Darlow, I am not sure he is sufficiently reliable for the Prem.
A decent Championship side - maybe Burnley will take him in p/e for Pope?

Is he worth a punt or has the ship sailed?.

I’d take him as backup to Henderson if Samba leaves and Horvath wants first team football, but we could probably pick up a keeper of similar standard for lower wages.

Darlow already earns as much in a year as I earned in my lifetime, so I'm not the slightest bit interested in our has-been.

If he was an egg and was served for breakfast to the 16th person ordering them in 'spoons on any given morning, he'd be Pope Benedict XVI.
