Although i have to say, launching it on April 1st isn’t the best idea, is it?

I don't understand: is this just a Forest thing, or an EFL thing?

It’s just Forest, they’re binning off the EFL iFollow platform and launching their own.

What could possibly go wrong....?

Judging by the comments on iFollow I've read here, probably nothing.

This is very intriguing, could be a recipe for disaster or a genius move.

It's good to see the club making these bold decisions though.

For what it’s worth, it’s The same external company who work with the likes of Villa and Celtic, providing their streaming platforms, so, it’s not like it’s three blokes in a shed somewhere.

That said, Forest have specialised in spectacularly bollocksing things up for so long, I’m not holding my breath.

Let’s see; as I say, I’m well prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt, as it’s got to be better than the awful iFollow platform.

All I’m saying is, there better be Colin Fray.

Aye... NO Fray, NO pay.

Oh dear, I hope it's all easy to access and make it work. For an old duffer like me to use these things they have to be foolproof. What is most annoying is that my grandson hardly has to think about using modern technology, whereas I have to sweat it out.

Although results on the pitch and the quality of player recruitment haven't necessarily improved under Marinakis, I do think this kind of management of the business is light years better than under Fawaz.

Will be interesting to see how much it costs. If it’s not excessive, I might bin off my iptv stream for next season.

I express a note of caution with the system going live Thursday and a game Friday that people may want to watch.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

I'll speak up in defence of iFollow, as someone who has subscribed since day 1. Initially it's offering was poor. Do it yourself synced commentary. No stats, no replays, and no ads (maybe just FIFA originally...). The lack of Chromecast is annoying, but sort of understandable, and can be worked around by casting a tab to the TV.
It's improved every year for me. With the graphics being added, the commentary, and the replays. I've never had too much of a steaming problem either (admittedly I'm at the end of a 1Gb fibre connection) and latency is usually solid for me.

I can only imagine ForestTV will get some of this wrong. The iFollow commentary is good (yes, I know it's not iFollow who do it, it's Radio Nottm,), so FTV had better keep that or be as good. The actual camera work will not change I expect, and hopefully the director choosing the shots isn't on work experience.

Hopeful the new system will be decent enough, worried it will be crap...

My immediate thoughts too. Another masterclass from the club in how to make life difficult for yourself.

You will be ok as the Cardiff v Forest game is live overseas

Yeah, it’s on DAZN here in Germany, so it wouldn’t have been on iFollow (for me, anyway) as it was.

I don't imagine this is going to make much difference to streaming - I suspect they'll be incorporating the streaming feed from the broadcast loop - as is - so we'll be getting the same content. StreamAMG will handle the streaming they provide a similar service for Fulham, Everton, Stoke and others.

What the club seems to be taking back is the 'platform' it is delivered on. It can serve up the same shite through its own infrastructure and handle fan relations through a single sign-on that will mean, on the one hand, no duplication between tickets, retail and media services and, on the other hand, a single platform for extracting cash out of us. The club is using UrbanZoo and their 'GameChanger' platform, which is designed to help clubs enter your pocket.

You'd hope they've had a LOT of people testing this out already.

Mind you if they had, I'm sure we'd have heard about it on here.

Knowing this company does the same thing for Celtic and Villa fills me with hope, those 2 clubs have good sized canvases so it should cope with our fan base.

If they are more stable than Ifollow, and allow casting that would immediately make it better, if they allow manual replays, late starts (when you're a little late) and key moments replays then it would be phenomenal.

But they need to keep Colin Fray aswell.

They 7 other clubs that are using.

There are complaints, of course.

So we'll see.

Hmm. The words "Radio Nottingham commentary" and "Colin Fray" are conspicuous by their absence.

These are very big selling points for a Forest football coverage service.
