The Mrs and I gave up watching the game - quality of play was absolutely awful.
We saw the studs-up, out of control tackle on Niakhate, and it only merited a yellow!
I was a potential leg-breaker.
It was the effects that probable made him miss his spot kick (we had turned off long, long before, so didn't see it).

He did a pretty good marauding run from left back up the left wing in the move that produced the corner we scored from. Almost wonder if our best back 4 has him at left back (he sometimes plays there for Senegal) and Aina at right back. I prefer Aina on the right than on the left, think he offers more going forward when he's on his right foot.

Mention of Aina. I was quite thrown by him wearing number 2 for Nigeria, but playing at left back. As an old hand, it just looked wrong.

Not sure he has the right level of close control for that role, though feel the same about the other two so have at it - there's only one way to find out!

Moussa was a strong candidate for MOTM last night.
The penalty miss aside, his performances for Senegal were generally very good.
One of my favourite players and characters af the club right now.

Yeah he comes across as a very good sort - I've no issues with him at all just whether he's a contender at left back. Great character, and great that he took the peno a week after the miss.

Yeah I don't really think he's much of a contender at left back. It's partly that I want him playing but don't particularly want to drop Omobamidele, and also I don't particularly rate Tavares or Toffolo (and would like Aina at right back).

Tbh I thought the afcon one was a great hit, real confidence and bend on it.

Wonder if he can take a free kick.

It was. It was unfortunately very close to going in but not quite enough. If it had just crept inside the post it would have been a very good pen. #finemargins

I was squinting at the highlights thinking, 'is that really Moussa making that run?' I think it gives us what Nuno has been calling "options." Man City have been playing CB's across the back four (with mixed results in Gvardiol's case, imho), after all. Could be a 'horses for courses' type thing?
