Doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but it is being heavily reported that Wolves have bid £42mil for Nunes who is an attacking CM.

Also linked heavily with Palhinha, who is slightly more defensive.

In their 3,5,2 you question whether they would do this if they had MGW in their plans, with Neves and Dendoncker seemingly penned in at the other 2 CM spots.

I’d imagine MGW is also thinking the same

Neves wants out. I imagine he’ll provide plenty of the funds for their recruitment.

But I still think MGW wants to come here. Footballers want to feel loved and to play football. You have to think that whatever Lage is saying to him about getting his chance, it’s all talk. He brought him back in January last year and did nothing with him.

He will know that Coops will make him a key part of the team. Also, academy grads are usually criminally underpaid. Best chance of a pay rise is to move clubs.

Yeah I know there was reports that Wolves valuation may be a sticking point, with Barca unwilling to negotiate to that level. Think they want 50+.

Yeah will certainly be about opportunity and pay at this point and he will know both are available with us.

I’m exactly the same. Love Zinck, but MGW in that role is so exciting. We’ll still get the effort without the ball that was crucial last year, but so much more with it.

Genuinely think if we get him and also nail the striker next to Brennan (*cough* Okafor please *cough*) we are going to be a scary proposition, especially on the break.

Tend to think Wolves are batting above taking a punt on someone who has done well the division below - they will want serious upgrades now.

I expect MGW to become available - the tricky thing will be getting him here, if as expected he is a primary target of ours. As someone mentioned on another thread, we aren't established so if one of those clubs wants we may well miss out.

I'm hopeful the Cooper effect works it's magic with this one mind...

Yeh he seems to fit the bill perfectly. Transitions and accuracy being the key for Forest, but he's got the ability to retain the ball for longer periods. Would be a great signing

They are but the way I read it is he wants guarentees to be an important player and they can't offer that so he won't sign a new deal. He has been in and out of their team for almost 5 years now.

He will want to be a regular first team player, they probably can't guarentee that - meanwhile we can and it will be under a manager that loves him.

But we will see in the coming weeks on the contract front. It could just be a negotiation tactic from him but I hope not.

I'm amazed he is still only 22 years old, feels like he has been around forever lol. But seriously though, would be a tremendous signing, can play multiple positions and would fit in quite nicely with the guys we have already. Hopefully it gets done.

Different positions, we'll still need a Garner alternative if we don't get Garner. If we sign MGW he'll play in the Zinckernagel role.

I actually think we could do with someone quicker than Neco, If we can't get Spence then someone equally as fast would be my preference (e.g. Kabore) to keep that right wing weapon, we're probably gonna have to do a lot of countering next season.

overpriced at 20m-25m , gibbs-white is unproven at premier league. Just because he was good in the championship doesn't mean that he's able to do it in the premier league. I wouldn't want him to be the next brewster , scored 11 goals in 22 games in the championship , got a 23.5m transfer to sheff. utd in the premier league and proceed to score 0 in 27 games in the premier league.

It is a gamble to some extent, but by that token what would you value unproven BJ at?

By the same logic we should sell Johnson because he is unproven in the Premiership and we might as well get the money now.
