Some tough calls and if some of the currently playing reserve players go on to win a few trophies with the club then maybe they will earn a place in the first XI.
Very nearly my choice but MGW and ISM are in my current first eleven.

Obviously you wouldn’t have seen ISM play so we agree on nearly every selection.

Sorry - do not agree & didn't agree when he was criticised for it last season.

I think people are nitpicking to the extreme, and it has become a narrative more than a reality. He had about 3 games where he was below his standards. It only started because people imagined up he lost interest & was going to leave this summer.

I thought there was an increase in attempted hollywood passes that often went to opposition and defensively I think he got away with a few fouls too. Largely he was very good thoughm just think he lost a bit of consistency or was maybe trying too much out of the box stuff.

What’s that based on!! Surely he would have come off when he did it, but chose to run it off.
Well, he could have made it worse by playing on, and adrenaline can play a factor there as well.

I seem to recall when Chris Cohen did one of his ACL injuries he walked off the pitch. The knee can withstand that level of activity, even if it's painful, albeit not to the extent of playing professional sport. I was watching that Novak Djokovic documentary on prime and at the Aus open last year he played 3 sets against Alcaraz (and won from a set down) with a tear in his groin, and then played the next match but had to retire injured after a set.

You can't tell because a lot of the time these guys don't just throw the towel in because something hurts a bit.

How many times have we been told a p;layer is only out for a bit or "might miss the next match" and ultimately it ends up that they're out for weeks or even months, it's where the two weeks away thing comes from too. There wasn't a lot said about Wood and Savona's knee issues last season either...

Blocking the ball with his knee just seemed so innocuous at the time, although it did come at him with some force to be fair.

I don't know why and it might just my imagination, but I think during the negotiations for Liam Delap, Morgan has come up in conversation again and maybe this knee injury isn't really as bad. I know Chelsea asked about him early on in the window but they've got a few players on the move and they could certainly stump up the cash to sign Gibbs-White.

Yes, its your imagination

I remember when Alan Smith blocked a Riise free kick for Man Utd and it dislocated his knee and broke his leg.
That was a really bad injury and really finished him as a top level striker, Smith was a clever lad though and reinvented himself as a DM
