We HATE the Villa
As long as the FA and PL are allowing teams to ride roughshod over the youth development side of things, and spend money on 16-18 year olds from Spain, France, Germany and elsewhere to play in academy football, and, have allow teams to play with no homegrown players in the starting 11, we'll always have this issue. Our European counterparts are more than happy to let one of their talents come over here, as they know theres another one where that one came from. As Notcher may agree, youth coaching on the continent is a far different concept to in the UK, and it shows. A player with a talent such as Lamine Yamal or Pedri would have had that knocked out of him by now, and they'd be in a heap in League Two..
Sorry but I'm not having this "foreign players" nonsense, it has never, and never will have a bearing on the quality of the England team

We are more than capable of producing a squad of players to compete at international competitions every couple of years regardless of any influx of foreign talent

As I remember England failed to qualify for two World Cups in a row in 74 and 78 with literally no foreign players anywhere near the English Football League

It's the biggest red herring going

It's interesting actually because I thought that certainly at Academy level lads like Alex Mighten and Ethan Dekel were as highly rated as Brennan, yet the first two have basically disappeared in the MLS I think and the other one has had two big moves but hasn't really moved on since he left us

I agree in part. It’s definitely rubbish that elite talents like Yamal wouldn’t be welcomed and cherished by every club in England. But I do think young players from the talent tier below that might find themselves frozen out. Too good for the Championship, but not yet good enough for the Premier League.

Said it before, but, give the lad a bumper pay-rise and build the team around him.

Just seen him looking happy and contented with wife in tow at the Monaco GP track where he was about to take a run around the circuit (in a fast car!). Inconsequential chat really, but seemed ready to relax this Summer and come back ready to play for the club in the coming season.
Blimey, Valspoodle. No doubt you were just passing through on the way to pick up your mega yacht at St Tropez, right? Did the rest of the Gunter money go in your pension pot?
