My worry is Villa. If Rogers does go to Arsenal I could see Villa putting a good offer our way, and I'd be surprised if MGW wasn't interested.
I put this to my Villa supporting mate. He said that they have an ageing squad and need quite a few new players. He reckons any money gained from a Rogers sale would be used for squad building and not one massive sale like MGW. I hope he's correct. My worry is Villa. If Rogers does go to Arsenal I could see Villa putting a good offer our way, and I'd be surprised if MGW wasn't interested.
I agree but I’m hopeful MGW will stay.If we lose MGW & Anderson this summer then we're f*cked!
Others have done it, but I doubt very much whether that would happen with Morgan. He actually handled all the fuss over the supposed Spurs move pretty well last summer and came out of it with his reputation intact. His performance on the pitch and his public pronouncements have been close to impeccable. If he does leave at some stage in the future, surely he’d want to do it without screwing the club and want to think that he’d get the sort of reception that a much loved returning player (like Anderson) would get at the City Ground?Alternative theory - He could just decide to run his contract down over the next couple of years and go on a free if we stand in his way again. That's not unheard of with the modern day player.
I'm not worried about Villa. The whole reason they need to sell Rogers is because of sanctions coming their way from UEFA.My worry is Villa. If Rogers does go to Arsenal I could see Villa putting a good offer our way, and I'd be surprised if MGW wasn't interested.
Yep. He strikes me as a player that actually enjoys playing football first and foremost. Put that together with the love he has at Forest and I think money may not talk so loud for MGW.There is virtually no chance that MGW leaves in the summer.
1. Marinakis will not allow Anderson and MGW to both go in the same window.
2. We have no PSR/SCR pressure to sell
3. I don’t get the impression he wants to leave
I think being overlooked by England has made MGW appreciate more than ever how highly he is regarded and how much he is loved at Forest. That is important to him. Of course he is ambitious and wants to prove people wrong. But he has a better chance of doing that in a team where he will start every game in a settled and familiar environment.
And he has been made on-field captain, and is clearly enjoying the responsibility.Yep. He strikes me as a player that actually enjoys playing football first and foremost. Put that together with the love he has at Forest and I think money may not talk so loud for MGW.
Impartiality aside. I’d be same as MGW. Here he guarantees himself football at a club that could well break into the top ten. The cartel isn’t that much a pull as it once was
I love Yates but if it helps keep MGW I'd drop Yates to vice captain. And he has been made on-field captain, and is clearly enjoying the responsibility.
Have you got that from some spurs fan on Twitter quoting the Independent's football guy @MiguelDelaney? Because I looked on the Independent and his twitter and saw no mention of MGW so I think the guy is making it up.Looks like Round 2 with Spurs is going to happen.
I saw it on there, so many Spurs accounts have said it so surely they have seen something. It wouldn't surprise me as they have revisited deals for Savio and Robertson already.Have you got that from some spurs fan on Twitter quoting the Independent's football guy @MiguelDelaney? I’ll guarantee they’ll be struggling again without proven quality so it wouldn’t surprise me. He either goes this summer or not at allLooks like Round 2 with Spurs is going to happen.
Its at the point now where I don't really know who we are without Morgan. We should throw the kitchen sink at keeping him. Our most important player and has been for 4 years now.
