My worry is Villa. If Rogers does go to Arsenal I could see Villa putting a good offer our way, and I'd be surprised if MGW wasn't interested.
I put this to my Villa supporting mate. He said that they have an ageing squad and need quite a few new players. He reckons any money gained from a Rogers sale would be used for squad building and not one massive sale like MGW. I hope he's correct.

I'm guessing we would want in excess of 70 million for Morgan so hopefully this prices him out of a move.

Alternative theory - He could just decide to run his contract down over the next couple of years and go on a free if we stand in his way again. That's not unheard of with the modern day player.

Others have done it, but I doubt very much whether that would happen with Morgan. He actually handled all the fuss over the supposed Spurs move pretty well last summer and came out of it with his reputation intact. His performance on the pitch and his public pronouncements have been close to impeccable. If he does leave at some stage in the future, surely he’d want to do it without screwing the club and want to think that he’d get the sort of reception that a much loved returning player (like Anderson) would get at the City Ground?

There is virtually no chance that MGW leaves in the summer.
1. Marinakis will not allow Anderson and MGW to both go in the same window.
2. We have no PSR/SCR pressure to sell
3. I don’t get the impression he wants to leave

I think being overlooked by England has made MGW appreciate more than ever how highly he is regarded and how much he is loved at Forest. That is important to him. Of course he is ambitious and wants to prove people wrong. But he has a better chance of doing that in a team where he will start every game in a settled and familiar environment.
Yep. He strikes me as a player that actually enjoys playing football first and foremost. Put that together with the love he has at Forest and I think money may not talk so loud for MGW.

Impartiality aside. I’d be same as MGW. Here he guarantees himself football at a club that could well break into the top ten. The cartel isn’t that much a pull as it once was

And he has been made on-field captain, and is clearly enjoying the responsibility.

Looks like Round 2 with Spurs is going to happen.
Have you got that from some spurs fan on Twitter quoting the Independent's football guy @MiguelDelaney? Because I looked on the Independent and his twitter and saw no mention of MGW so I think the guy is making it up.

I saw it on there, so many Spurs accounts have said it so surely they have seen something. It wouldn't surprise me as they have revisited deals for Savio and Robertson already.

Spurs would seem a weird move for him at this point unless he really just wants out to anywhere (which there’s no suggestion of).

Might be agent talk to knowingly let others know MGW is available. Or it might be lazy press talk. Or maybe Spurs are just deluded (OK that’s quite likely)

If he went to United, city I could see the logic maybe even Chelsea at a push but f***ing spurs ? No chance. I’m pretty sure MR M would rather let him go for free than sell him to that lot.

I’m generally a pessimist with football but I’d be staggered (and alarmed) if Forest sold Anderson and MGW in the same year.

Also don’t think MGW would go to Spurs now even if he was going to leave. Now he’s had another great season he’d go somewhere serious that challenges for trophies. I could see Villa or Man Utd perhaps, but Spurs need a totally new squad before they can dream of competing - they’re years off it.

Give him a bumper contract for as long as he likes, and give his missus a new washing machine like Mr. Clough would have done.

Job‘s a good ‚un.
